GeneralUm, well, there's the movies. Saving the human race from itself. My sweetie Michelle. Chatting on the IMDb Horror Boards. Plugging my buddy's website WWW.KITLEYSKRYPT.COM That's enough for now.
MusicI'll admit to liking everything from Britney Spears, Pink, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, John Denver, Willie Nelson, Coldplay, U2, Pink Floyd, Rush, Queen. Basically, if it played on the radio pre-2002. After that, I gave up.
MoviesWhile my focus has been on horror for the past couple years (I've now seen over 1,500 horror films and monster movies), I do have a wide and devoted appreciation to cinema in general. I've seen all the Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor winners, and am now working on the Best Foreign Film Oscars. I like the prestige pics, the cult faves, the films that people say "you gotta see this." I'm not big on most Hollywood-based comedies. Well, honestly, I'm not big on Hollywood most of the time, but every once in a while, something good sneaks through.
TelevisionHaven't watched TV in about 10 years. I do like the old Twilight Zone reruns and Monty Python. But I have those on DVD.
BooksUsed to read a fair amount of fiction, but lately its been a lot of cinema reference books. My top 5 fiction books would be: THE LONG WALK by Stephen King (as Richard Bachman) SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE by Kurt Vonnegut THE WORLD ACCORDING TO GARP by John Irving SOMETHING HAPPENED by Joseph Heller THE WICKER MAN by Anthony Shaffer
HeroesMy mom. Godzilla. John Stanley. Lloyd Kaufman. Jon Kitley. David White. Anyone who's been on the IMDb Horror Boards for more than 2 years.

Dr. AC, Fool for Blood's Networking
Publishing - Writer - Critic
I'm interested in finding an arena where my experience in viewing and writing about movies (specifically in the horror genre) will have a place to live and grow.
Theatre - Drama - Acting
I've been a professional actor in Chicago for over 20 years now. But networking is always key. So, hey, I'm out here and I'm worthwhile! There, I said it.

About me:
Dr. AC Dr. AC Dr. AC Who is this Dr. AC of which you speak? Well, I used to be Aaron Christensen, aspiring Chicago actor. Now I'm Dr. AC, hopeless horror movie nerd-cum-Ambassador of Horror. Luckily, the Chicago theatre community has not banished me from their midst, despite my inability to talk about anything but monsters that pervade, aliens that invade, creatures of the night, vampires that bite....There I go doing it again. Cover Illustration by Brett A. Harrison
Who I'd like to meet:
Cool cats who love the entire horror genre are the best. But there is also something to be said for those who have given themselves slavishly to one particulare subgenre. What can I say? I'm easy. Oh, yeah, and anyone who wants to pick up a horror movie guidebook in this cyber-age. Cuz I've got a doozy just waiting for anyone who's willing....

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!

There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.

Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."

And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."

Haven't seen you in forever! Can't wait for flashback! Ben and I are not able going to come for one day only this year. We're trying to save money! :) I don't see much going on at Flashback that I'm too interested in this year anyway! Mostly just want to see my con buddies like you!

That is a swell plan, but I'm completely talentless as far as musical interests go... however I DID name my trivia team at House of Horrors once "Team Shark Alarm". And we won.

John brough over Dead Snow and we had a blast watching it! Nazi zombies, woo hoo!!! Thought it was slow in the beginning but once the blood and guts got going, it was worth the wait. What did you think?

Not at all :) In fact, the other way around I would think.
I haven't been on much at all the past year. Now that I have won the fight with HP to get my laptop fixed, I should be around a lot more. I think it might be wise to invest in another computer so that I have backup!

I hate the fact Flashback is in October. It's been too long since I've seen you. I'm so busy in the summer... I'm not even online much, so I feel like a terrible friend right now. How are you and what's new?

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my 2nd horror novel SACRIFICE was released this month - and is in stores everywhere, including Amazon.com. I hope you'll check out the book! Here are a couple reviews it's gotten:

“SACRIFICE is not for the timid or weak of heart, it is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend Sacrifice.”
—Famous Monsters of Filmland

“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes
