Congratulations! to the talented writers invited to attend:
Skip Ewing’s Horse & Writer™ Invitational 2008
Three countries (Australia, Canada, and the US), ten states, and seven different genres (Pop, Rock, Country, Christian, Americana, Gospel, and AC) will be represented this year. The quality of material we received was excellent, making the panel’s final decisions difficult, and necessitating many hours of adjudication and diligent consideration. Thank You for your submissions. We recognize the many hours of creative effort that went into each and every one of them and encourage You to apply next year with the new and exciting material You’re sure to have written! (Please see the list of winners below right.)

Susan Suruda 2008 Horse & Writer Coordinator It's simply the most innovative and prestigious songwriting mentorship program ever offered!
i attended Classic in 2007 and was so blown away i accepted the position of Programs Coordinator in 2008 in order to help spread the word. It's already made a huge difference in my songwriting and i can't wait to be there again!
This year's "Invitational" staff is yet to be announced but last year's staff included, award winning songwriters:
Skip Ewing, Deanna Bryant, Clay Mills, and Chris Wallin...
For an entire week, You'll have the eyes and ears of that kind of staff paying attention to your writing.
And, most exciting of all... if You're accepted to the Horse & Writer Invitational program, You'll be able to attend on SCHOLARSHIP! That means that once again this year accepted applicants won't have to pay the $2500 dollar tuition fee! just their application fee(s) and travel to and from the ranch.
Horse & Writer Invitational is not looking for people who are already "master hit writers". If a song or writer like that comes across our applications desk, you can be sure we'll try to help get it into the hands (and ears) of the powers that be... but Skip has this to say about what it is he's really looking for from applicants:
"We’re listening for writers whose work shows us they have genuine promise and are taking steps in the right direction. If they’re talented and committed, and feel that what this program offers might truly help them become the writer they know they can be then I hope they apply."

And just in case You were wondering... You don't have to ride horses to attend the event!
