Our influences come from beautiful feelings that trickle through ours souls when exposed to Mr Hanky missions, Commision housing estates in Carlton North, Flat Tyres on bicycles, flowing black ink, my t-shirt, paper, bad textures and mutant retaliation.
Horse Competition was formed in 1894 by a band of bone-yielding convicts, who jumped ship just off the coast of Western Australia. With no food, money or skills beyond the limited areas of thieving and pyrotechnics, the four rapscallions had little choice but to burn down the nearest stable and rescue the horses, putting them between their legs. While this triumph was good for team morale, it still didn’t provide a steady source of income. And so, utilizing the distended rectums they had received during their stay in the English prison system, the miscreants invented a new contest that was to make history with its unprecedented vulgarity and brutal violence. As the men traveled the harsh and unforgiving mainland, competing with any man brave or stupid enough to risk death or worse, the four scoundrels basked in the bloody glory of repeated triumph, until one day they crossed the waters to Van Diemen’s Land, only to meet their fateful peril at the loins of a wooly mammoth. However, the Tasmanian locals took to the game like a man to his sister and carried on the tradition we know today.....................................................

Horse Competition are a four piece band consisting of drums, bass, guitar and computer based noise/synths. They play textured noisy rock music with a twist of digital experimentation.
Horse Competition have no association with thoroughbred racing. It is an unusually cruel sport in which beautiful creatures are worked so hard they hemorrhage, bleed from the nose and die.
Horse Competition have two releases titled “Thaoxaust” and “I Like The Universe”, the former available through Missing Link, CDbaby and anywhere else that sells copies, the latter is free at gigs. Any likeness Kinlay has to Monkey Magic is purely coincidental and is by no means an attempt to boost record sales.
