Hi Fellow Music Lovers,
You have wandered onto the site of the Horsin' Around Band. We have been voted the 1 Live Band In The Tri-States for 8 years in a row. We are all very proud of that.
We play everything from Johnny Cash to Brooks & Dunn and from Jo Dee Messina to Carrie Underwood. We are a 5-piece band with 5 vocalists including two females. Only one at a time though.
The lone remaining founding member of the band is Jeff Peil on bass. He started the band in 1992 as the house band at the Crazy Horse Saloon. The rest of the band consists of some seasoned veterans of the area music scene. Gary Peterson on the drums grew up in a musical household as his Mom and Dad had their own country band that got him started in the business. Guitarist Kerry Erickson comes from one of the most respected music families in the area. His Father, Bob, had the very popular Bob's Country Pride for years and years and Kerry cut his teeth on stage with his family. Steel Guitarist Rich Winger has played in many area bands over the years and played with Jeff in a band back in the 70's. Jeff has been in many area bands over the years as well and has become a weekly guest on the Friday afternoon spot on their sponsor, 103.3 WJOD, with Ken Peiffer.
Trina Murray has been with the band for about 3 years. She is a teacher and dance instructor and is currently playing a role in the Grand production of Bye Bye Birdie.
Molly Meloy comes from a musical family as well. Her father is one of the members of the very popular Meloy Brothers band. They have played the tri-states music scene for years and are very well respected as well.
Both Molly and Trina are fantastic singers. They will now and again get together onstage but Molly is the usual singer as Trina is a very busy person with her teaching and instructing and all.
So stop by and check out the Horsin' Around Band. I think we play something for everyone in the course of an evening. So stop in as say hi wherever you see them and have yourself a fantastic time. See y'all soon!!!
