Nach nur drei gemeinsamen Proben trat die ebenso junge wie unerschrockene Band beim „Star of the Bar“-Wettbewerb in Graz an. Eigentlich sollte die Teilnahme nur dem Sammeln erster Bühnenerfahrung dienen, doch sehr zur eigenen Überraschung gewann das Trio prompt den Bewerb. In ihrer Euphorie bestärkt, wandten sich die drei Musiker bald darauf der Aufnahme ihrer Debut-CD zu. Vor kurzem wurde das mit „Who is H. Eckhart?“ betitelte Werk fertiggestellt, eine Reihe von Konzerten zur Präsentation des Albums folgt. Die Musik des Horst Eckhart Trios lebt von der Vermengung so verschiedenartiger Einflüsse wie Swing, Pop, Funk, Rock oder Electronic ebenso wie von der unbändbaren Spielfreude der drei jungen Instrumentalisten. Komponiert sind jeweils nur die Eckpunkte der Stücke, zwischen denen sich die spontane, farbenfrohe Improvisation entfalten kann. Nicht zuletzt deswegen fällt die Beschreibung der Musik schwer- Was bleibt also, als zum Anhören zu raten? Denn danach bleibt nur eine Frage offen: Wer ist eigentlich Horst Eckhart? ___________________________________________________________________________ The Horst Eckhart Trio was formed at the end of 2007. The young as well as undaunted band lined up at the „Star of the Bar“-bandcontest after three try-outs only. In fact the intention was to gain first experience on stage but on ones own surprise the Trio won the competition. Soon afterwards the three musicians turned to the recordings of their debut-record. Quite recently the work entitled „who is h. eckhart?“ was completed and a whole series of concerts should follow. The Trio..s music impresses with diversified influences such as Swing, Pop, Funk, Rock or Electronic and with the three musician..s exuberant joy of playing. Entirely the vertexes being composed and spontanious and brightly coloured improvisations develop inbetween. Not least for that reason it is difficult to describe the music- so what can help but the advise to listen? Because there will be just one question to remain open: who actually is Horst Eckhart?
