About me: Founded in 1892 by N.A. Horton, Horton's has been a part of the Carrollton Georgia community for 115 years. Originally begun as a source for school textbooks, the store expanded to include furniture, sewing machines, hymnals, songbooks, china, caskets and coffins. This was not unusual at the time as N. A. Horton was an undertaker in addition to being a bookseller.
Operated by his son Hap after 1917, Horton's continued to grow along with the town. After locating in various buildings around the downtown square, Horton's returned to its original location in 1951. Antique cases from a pharmacy provide unique bookshelves as well as an ambiance found nowhere else. The original heart pine floors reflect shelves filled with a wide selection of books and gifts for all occasions. The NewsStand next door offers a variety of coffees and teas along with magazines and daily newspapers. Chloe and Mayah, the store felines, are always available to help in a customer's selection.

If I ever need a great gift, I just go to Hortons. It doesn't matter if it's for a 3 year old or a 93 year old...everyone loves their books and gifts. Thank you for being there all of these years. PS...my son LOVED the Harry Potter Open house at Midnight. I have the best pictures. Thanks again!
