HORUS PREVAILS is a band from the Ruhr Area (Germany) that consists of five musicians from Gelsenkirchen, Bottrop and Oberhausen. The band was founded in spring 2007 by its initial members Nico, Andy, Midget, Zaubi and Rapha. In summer 2008, Midget left the band for personal reasons. In Kevin, the band found an adequate substitute very quickly. The band has been existing in this formation ever since.
In their music, HORUS PREVAILS are geared to the genre Death Metal, also using elements from the Hardcore genre. These two genres are combined to an explosive mixture of melodic guitar tunes and powerful mosh parts. Other characteristics for HORUS PREVAILS' music are its variety, atmosphere and several technical finesse that top THE HORUS HERESY’s music off to a high musical level.
In their lyrics, HORUS PREVAILS pick up mythological as well as society-critical subjects that are not rarely composed in a metaphoric and ironic way.
Based on the single band members' stage experience, the live performance fits a high level as well. HORUS PREVAILS bring a lot of energy on stage and perform their songs very stylishly. Meanwhile they use all the room on stage and with this they accompany the dynamics of their songs in a very professional way.
HORUS PREVAILS ist eine Band aus dem Ruhrgebiet, die sich aus fünf Musikern aus Gelsenkirchen, Bottrop und Oberhausen zusammensetzt. Die Band wurde im Frühjahr 2007 von Nico, Andy, Midget, Zaubi und Rapha gegründet. Im Sommer 2008 verließ Midget die Band aus persönlichen Gründen. In Kevin fand die Band relativ schnell einen adäquaten Ersatz. Die Band besteht seitdem in der aktuellen Formation.
Musikalisch bewegen sich HORUS PREVAILS im Genre Death Metal, verwenden aber auch Elemente aus dem Bereich Hardcore und kombinieren diese Stilrichtungen zu einer explosiven Mischung aus melodiösen Gitarrenspuren und kraftvollen Mosh Parts. Charakteristisch sind außerdem Abwechslungsreichtum, Atmosphäre und technische Finessen, die die Musik von HORUS PREVAILS zu einem Stil von hohem musikalischem Niveau abrunden.
Lyrisch greifen HORUS PREVAILS sowohl gesellschaftskritische als auch mythologische Themen auf, die nicht selten metaphorisch und parabolisch geschrieben sind.
Auf Grund der Bühnenerfahrung der einzelnen Bandmitglieder entspricht auch die Live Performance der Band einem hohen Niveau. HORUS PREVAILS bringen eine Menge Energie auf die Bühne und tragen ihre Songs sehr stilvoll vor. Hierbei nutzt die Band den vollen Platz auf der Bühne und untermalt somit die hohe Dynamik ihrer Songs in einer sehr professionellen Art und Weise.
