   Hospital Radio Bedside's Blurbs
About me:
Hospital Radio Bedside is one of the UK's premier hospital radio stations, broadcasting to the patients of The Royal Bournemouth, Christchurch, Wimborne, Poole Hospitals and Poole's Maternity Unit. We are a charity association, which is run completly by volunteers and is on the air, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and most importantly FREE of charge, to those who need it most, the listeners who just want to get better. We have been broadcasting since 1972 and therefore are the longest running radio station of any type in the Dorset area. We have a variety of programmes and music that is unrivalled and we take requests from listeners for anything from Frank Sinatra to Robbie Williams, Beethoven to the Bee Gees or Abba to ZZ Top! You name it, we will play it!
Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone who wishes to help out at the station from anything like collecting requests and visiting patients, to engineering, fundraising and even presenting. If you would like more information, don't hesitate to visit our website, www.hospitalradiobedside.co.uk

E.ON UK Press Releases
17 October 2007 09:57
Sheffield residents invited to see proposals for new E.ON power station at Blackburn Meadows
Local residents are being given the chance to find out more about E.ON UK's proposals for a new £60m biomass power station at a series of public exhibitions starting this week.
E.ON, one of the UK's leading green generators, submitted a scoping statement to Sheffield City Council and other statutory consultees earlier this year, outlining regeneration plans for the former Blackburn Meadows power station site.

Rated at 25MW, the new renewable energy plant would produce enough power for around 40,000 homes by burning ‘biomass' fuel such as wood and specially grown energy crops.

And the company is now inviting local people to join them at one of three exhibitions being held across the city.

Friday 19th October, 10am to 1pm and 5pm to 7.30pm - Tinsley Green Children's Centre, 34a Norborough Road, Tinsley (Urdu and Slovakian interpreters will be available);
Monday 22nd October, 1pm to 6pm - E.ON marquee on the Moor outside Debenhams;
Tuesday 23rd October, 10am to 7pm - Meadowhall shopping centre in the upper atrium outside Marks and Spencer.
Project Manager Dr Nilton Chan said: "We're really keen to meet and talk to the local community and to get their views.

"We want people to come along and find out more about the regeneration of Blackburn Meadows and would welcome the chance to meet anyone who has any questions or would like further details of our plans."

It is hoped that a full planning application will be submitted to the council later this year.

If the project gets the green light, construction is expected to start early in 2009 with the first power being produced in 2011.

Hiya Mike

I just wanted to thank you for the really fun interview you did with Harrison Avenue on 09_09_07 in anticipation of their launch.

You always make it so much fun, even with a few technical moments to overcome :o)

FYI -
Harrison Avenue are making their performing debuts at Sirius, Tudor Grange on Wednesday October 17 and the Bournemouth Folk Club, Centre Stage on Sunday 4 November

'Harrison Avenue' - James Harrison and Steve Harrison :
James - local singer songwriter
- http://www.myspace.com/jamesharrisonuk
and
Steve - originator of 70's folk group 'Saraband'

There are few Father and Son Duo's on the circuit. A point of difference as I call it.
