~TRUE STORY PLEASE READ AND SHARE WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW~
A family of 8--six children, three boys and three girls living with their parents who had been married for 17 years--was torn apart after the two parents divorced. The father was a pastor and had been one for over 50 years, the mother a church praise leader who had been an outstanding mother of her children and of the church. Eventually, problems in the marriage led to the mother filing for a divorce. It was discovered that she had a drug problem and she had long since been drinking without her husband's knowledge or approval. After having been raised in a strict Christian home all of their lives and very close to their mother, the children chose to stay with her and the court gave her custody of all five children (the oldest was a legal adult). During the divorce, the second oldest of the children, a girl who was then around 13 years old, discovered her mother's drug problem. The family continued to live in their home after their father moved out. They lived there for about 5 months, during which the mother brought a slew of drug dealers, prostitutes, and drug users into the home and around her children. All three of her daughters were sexually molested during this time and despite their pleas to their mother, she refused to keep the men out of her home. The father had no idea of what was going on. The small amounts of information he did get was from the fourth oldest child, the youngest of the three girls who was a "daddy's girl." When the family discovered that she was sharing their secrets during her weekends with her father, the mother punished her by making her do her siblings chores and spanking her. She eventually kept her mouth closed. After a few months, the house became unfit to live in. The children were running the streets, the second oldest girl was gone for days at a time, coming in at 3, 4 and 5 o'clock in the morning on some days, but upon her enterance she was not scolded or punished, instead her presence was nearly unnoticed and it was as if she hadn't left at all. The drugs got worse, the home got worse, and eventually the mother moved the children out of the home and into motels, soon after which the second oldest girl left to stay with friends. Soon afterwards, the mother found a home in Southern California (they had previously lived in Northern California) and moved her children there, after having spent nearly all of the money she had acquired from the divorce on the down payment of the home, drugs, and miscellaneous items. Upon arrival, she didn't acquire a job and instead chose to live off of the child support she received from her husband and the money she expected to receive from the drug dealers she brought around the home. Over the course of a year, her children were left hungry more than once, the lights, gas, and water were turned off numerous times and she lost her home due to drugs. During this time, the children were not allowed to disclose this information to their father. She followed her boyfriend to Colorado after she lost her home and after many problems, her children arrived with her. Her second oldest child refused to live under those conditions any longer and took a bus back to California to live with her father. She was trying to think of the perfect way to convince her mother to allow her to take her younger brothers with her, but before she could call her mother and make an attempt, all of her siblings were taken away from her mother and put into foster homes. Although the father of the children has joint custody, his home was readily available and able to house the children, and there was no reason legally or otherwise why the state shouldn't have given him his children back, they were kept in the system and Colorado state refuses still, after nearly two years, to give the father back his children. We are fighting now. When has it ever been okay for a state to disobey its own laws and keep children against their will and without reason? When a father and sibling are asking for their family to be allowed to come home, when children are asking to be reunited with their family and there are no legal reasons why they shouldn't be, why is the state allowed to keep them in foster care? Not able to know how to reach their family, and now afraid that they will never be reunited because Jefferson County (in Colorado) has now moved to terminate the rights of a father and sister. This cannot be allowed to go any further. America's liberty is in danger. Our children are in danger. Our families are in danger. This is legal kidnapping. Help us spread the word. Don't let them destroy any more families. Don't let them destroy ours. If they are allowed to do it once, then they can do it again. Will you know the next family? Will you be the next family?
