Born during two Jan-'07 NYC concert appearances, and initially billed as Ghost Factor, Hostfalt and Raberg is the most recent incarnation of the 17 year-long musical friendship of Award-winning, internationally acclaimed swedish-born, long time US-based improvisers/composers, New York City guitarist Sten Hostfalt
and Boston bassist Bruno Raberg.
Sten Hostfalt is described as "Virtuosic" and "Exceptional" by avant giants Joe Maneri and Jimmy Giuffre, and with "fast fingers and intense focus" according to Hank Shteamer of Time Out NY. In the words of Don Williamson of Jazz Review, he has"created his own repertoire incorporating microtones, a genuinely innovative approach that may be considered groundbreaking work expanding the sonic continuum available to the guitar". Prior to his Paul Bley initiated '02 CD debute as a leader, featuring Matthew Garrison, followed by the '03 microtonal live solo landmark release, chosen as a Guitar Player Magazine Editor's pick. Also known as a "brilliant soloist" (All Music Guide) for his work as an original member of Guillermo Klein's pioneering mid-90's NYC ensemble at Smalls, called "One of the better continuing experiments in New York" by The NY Times and "Energetic, frenzied, intertesting and finely executed" by Jazz Times.
