Been & gone...
Hot Burrito is held in Le Pub, Newport, it used to be on the first Wednesday of every month but is now more sporadic. Keep a look out here for confirmed dates.
Resident DJs Earl Hawkins (a.k.a. Paul from Diverse Music) and The Maindee Cowboy invite you to a regular hoe down of classic country rock, west coast pop and today's americana, spliced with a hint of blue-grass and historic recordings. We'll be featuring the finest alt.country and americana artists to play live, hopefully from either side of the Atlantic. There'll also be album launches and other special events. Keep checking the blog for an update.
Plaid shirts, leather chaps and cowboy boots positively encouraged!
THIS IS WHERE WE ARE AND HOW TO GET TO US:

CHRISTOPHER REES [Blues / Soul / Country] "Intense and absolutely mesmerizing" Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1)
CONVOI EXCEPTIONNEL [Minimalist / Rock / Hip Hop] "Convoi Exceptionnel are a Welsh rock and hiphop duo from the mean streets of Aberystwyth. Despite now living 300 miles apart and armed with only an SM58, a Mac and a twenty pound guitar from Argos they've managed to knock up some tunes for your enjoyment and get played on national radio"
DRAW ME STORIES [Alternative / Folk Rock / Indie] "A dark and raw yet perfectly polished and professional performance that will surely lead to bigger things...No doubt helped along by the fact lead singer Carl Hodgetts has the kind of Ian Curtis/ Paul Banks voice that makes girls go weak at knees!"
VALLEY LINES [Electronica / Dub / Psychedelic] "Valley Lines is the main musical project of Cardiff based electronic producer and sound artist Christian Gates, his musical output shifts from simplistic electro to densely layered electronica, often incorporating sound recordings from the natural environment with complex beats and synthesised noise"
...plus DJ's for a good old dance!

I wanted to thank you for accepting my friendship request. Hope you don't mind a total stranger contacting you, but not many people know about my music, so I'm trying to find ways to introduce it to them. I grew up in the Delta regions of the USA, but now permanently reside in Newport, Wales - so my music has a bit of a Americana/Blues/Alt-Country with a dash of Celtic kind of sound to it (I think!).
I do appreciate you taking the time to listen to some of my tunes. I'd love to know what you think of my Americana tune 'MAN FROM IDAHO' and my bluesy song 'MEN'!
Hot 'n' Sticky June day greetings! Really hope you can make it along to No.4 on THURSDAY 19TH JUNE for some great music and a boogie...you know you want to ;-)
All the best, [Thee alternative - 3rd Thursday of EVERY month!]
