Hot Chocolate Salsa's name may be new to the local music scene, however the triple threat talent behind the name has been entertaining fans throughout the state of New York for years.**
Tim (Timbo) Linkroum, is probably best recognized as the former guitarist of the band, "The Second Class Citizens". His impeccable rhythm then, is only more impressive now. He lays down an amazingly strong foundation for his fellow bandmates, and as they both would agree, makes their jobs "that much easier". His unique style is not only displayed through his instrument but also shines through his vocal technique and harmonies.**
If you have not seen or heard Sean Lewis play the guitar, then you have been robbed of an amazing thing. The former lead player of the band, "BrainTree", doesn't just rip up the guitar... He shreds it. Then he lights it up. Then he destroys the mother effer. His leads are tasteful, soulful, and unforgetable. His knowledge and love of his instrument is as obvious as the speed of his fingers. In addition his full, rich, vocal harmonies add to the tightness and uniqueness of the bands overall sound.**
Derrick Garafolo is the third member of this allstar band. You may recognize his name and face from the popular two-peice, "The Garafolo Bros.". Now, he is expanding his musical horizons and style and adding his own talents and flavour to Hot Chocolate Salsa. He is a multi-talented musician who adds many dementions to this incredibly solid ensemble. As a classically trained and schooled trumpet player, his jazz influences are welcomed and established in HCS. He also is a skilled percussionist, creating his own sound with crazy rhythms and dancible beats mastering the Djembe drum along with other various hand percussives. From time to time you will even see him jump up on keys, or pull out a harmonica and dazzle the audiance. However, out of his many strengths, probably the most recognizable would be his place as the lead vocalist of the band. With an impressive range, strong vocal presence, and a pure, rich tone.... Derrick's voice is just icing on the cake to an already amazing collage of talents.**
When you take three multi-talented, skilled, amazing musicians and add to that fact that they are also crafted songwriters, the possibilitys are endless. Behind the scenes the band has begun working on a collaboration of origionals that they are going to debut on their first album which they will probably begin promoting next summer. However for now, you can catch them play anywhere from Oswego to Owego and everywhere in between. **
Everything happens for a reason. There was a reason that one by one, each member of this group left their already established places that they held in the music scene. There was a reason that one by one, each member of this group found each other and began jamming together for fun. There was a reason that it was effortless for them to take that fun out into the scene and begin captivating audiences all over the place. There was a reason that it was so easy for the Tim, Sean, and Derrick to decide that musically this was where they should be. All you have to do is go to one of their shows, and its made apparently clear what that reason was... They were hungry. They were hungry for some Hot Chocolate Salsa.
