HOT CLUB SWING is a quintet featuring period instruments and sartorial elegance, with the line up of violin, acoustic Selmer-style guitars, double bass and French/English vocals. A little about the leader, Ben: starting on piano at age 8 then switching to guitar at 14, the usual teenage musical diet of punk, goth and extreme metal were the order of the day, both on the stereo and on his guitar. Alongside this were the influences of classical, 70's rock and 80's jazz from his parents and older siblings, hence formal lessons in classical guitar and later, jazz schooling. He currently leads two groups and is Head of Guitar Studies at Kardinia International College, Geelong.
