"If Gang of Four had met and reproduced with My Bloody Valentine, and if their super fucked up kids had grown up on The Beatles and Guided By Voices AND had managed to live long enough without killing themselves to make a record, the result might sound a lot like Hotel St. George." -ampeater music
“These boys can truly pen a catchy tune. The woo-woos of “All those Dancing Stars” or the bop-bop of the sunny party pop “Island Man” will reel you in and keep you hooked. City Boy Lemon is one heck of a debut. I’m already anticipating the next one.”- Snobsmusic.net
"The songs on City Boy Lemon are so irresistibly catchy they will be worming their way through your ears for weeks. If you told me Andy Partridge wrote the gem “Island Man”, I’d probably believe you, it is that fucking good." -MelodyGeek.com
"The band’s debut full-length is chock full of fine, fun indie pop that smacks of Spoon with a SoCal bent." –San Diego Reader
"City Boy Lemon is proving to be their best album yet. Adding to the mix of pounding drums, singing guitars, and strong bass lines is a voice reminiscent of the great Bowie." – Revolt Magazine
"City Boy Lemon yields sweet surprises under each layer you take the time to peel back."-Sawkick.com
“City Boy Lemon emits a more than enticing sound with tracks full of catchy guitar lines and clever riffs accompanied by some booty shaking drumming." -Grimygoods.com
"Finally, the summer of 09’ brings what could be the next big thing out of San Diego, City Boy Lemon." - Sdmusik.blogspot.com
"City Boy Lemon is the band’s most mature effort yet. Its greatest asset is its ability to genre-hop while remaining true to their core sound."
-San Diego City Beat
“City Boy Lemon' is brimming with songs that'll grab hold of your hippocampus and cling on for dear life.” - The Devil has the Best Tuna

tonight i was taking out the trash at the crappy grocery store that i work at in idaho, and over the loud speakers i heard "waiting on a miracle ain't like waiting on a train". i don't know how it found it's way onto whatever station the store uses, but i can definitely say that it was the one and only highlight of the night.
in case you were wondering, the song before it was "there she goes", one of the songs from the "so i married an axe murderer" soundtrack.
i can't believe you guys sold out so bad... first grocery store mixtapes... are the target ads far behind?
