Formed in summer 2003, appeared in all Taiwanese music festivals. Hotpink is 4 pieces punk rock band from Taipei Taiwan. The line-up have changed for many times, the current members are Sharkie as lead vocal and rhythm guitar, Zavier plays lead guitar and background chorus, Xiaoxiao climb her ska bass line, and 9 (Kyu) on drums.
ABOUT THE WORD "HOTPINK"
HOTPINK is a shocking color which brings a strong vivid expression. To define the word as two separate words " HOT " and " PINK ", there come a lot of the points of why we named our band as HOTPINK. Radical, anger, fast beats, hot blood, commotions, left-wing thinking, extreme, blowing-mind animation, excitements... etc. We don't fucking say " NO FUTURE ", cuz we think sky is the limit and we'll always believe in our dreams, keep our faith strong, and we got the future right in our hands.
ABOUT MUSIC
With nasal-childlike naughty female voice and melodic punk rock guitar soliloquizing and simple lyrics, there are sad shadows in happy tunes. On the internet, people reviewed HOTPINK as fierce, powerful, cranky female punk rock.
