    Gli Hot Rod nascono dalle ceneri degli Unavenged, nel Settembre 2006, da un'idea di Mirko Di Bella (chitarre) e Christian Balsamo (chitarre; ex-Deathwork; ex-Fighting Warriors), compagni di scuola con in comune la passione per la musica heavy. L'intento degli Unavenged era quello di suonare un heavy metal classico, devoto agli anni '80 (Iron Maiden, Accept, Manowar, Grave Digger, Judas Priest, etc.). In questo periodo (all'incirca 2004-05) attorno ai due chitarristi si avvicendarono diversi membri tra bassisti, batteristi e cantanti, ma le cose cambiano con l'arrivo di Marco Mauceri al basso (estate 2006); infatti con il suo inserimento si viene a formare il nucleo principale del gruppo, a tutt'oggi rimasto invariato. In questo stesso periodo, si decide anche per un cambio di rotta stilistico, musicale e d'immagine nel suo complesso. Si giunge alla decisione di suonare un Hard and Heavy, fortemente influenzato dalla scena ottantiana, e che strizza l'occhio al glam metal in voga in quegli anni, soprattutto in America. Gli Unavanged si trasformano così negli Hot Rod. La Prima formazione del gruppo vede, oltre a Christian Balsamo (chitarre), Mirko Di Bella (chitarre), e Marco Mauceri (basso), Alfio Bonaccorsi (Spreadin'Fear) alla batteria e Letizia Ferrara alla voce. Con questa formazione il gruppo comincia a lavorare al proprio repertorio di cover e pezzi inediti, e si esibisce per la prima volta in pubblico (Gennaio '07). Subito dopo, a causa di impegni extra-musicali, Alfio Bonaccorsi è costretto a lasciare il gruppo (Gennaio '07). Viene sostituito nel Febbraio 2007 con una vecchia conoscenza del "periodo Unavenged": Francesco Riscica (Lego System, Alturiak). Nell'estate 2007 Francesco lascia il gruppo per problemi logistici, ed in seguito a questo ennesimo scossone, gli Hot Rod decidono di mettersi alla ricerca di una formazione più stabile con cui poter andare avanti. I nuovi membri del gruppo sono Riccardo Zimbone (batteria; Ottobre '07) e Claudia Pagliaro (voce; Dicembre 2007; ex-Zero In Condotta). Con questa formazione gli Hot Rod possono finalmente ampliare il loro repertorio ed esibirsi in vari pub di Catania. Durante la primavera/estate del 2008 gli Hot Rod registrano e mixano il loro primo demo, totalmente autoprodotto, che vede finalmente la luce nel periodo di Ottobre/Novembre 2008. Il demo contiene quattro brani inediti, tre quarti dei quali scritti in origine per il progetto Unavenged, e quindi caratterizzati da sonorità più vicine all'heavy metal che all'hard rock. Nel Dicembre del 2009 entra a far parte del gruppo Cristina Settembrino sostituendo Riccardo Zimbone dietro le pelli. .. .. ...... .... Hot Rod were born from the breaking-up of Unavenged, in Semptember 2006, from an idea originally concieved by Mirko Di Bella (guitars) and Christian Balsamo (guitars; ex-Deathwork; ex-Fighting Warriors), school fellows with a common passion for heavy metal music. In the beginning the aim of Unavenged was to play classic heavy metal, in the vein of the glorious '80s (Iron Maiden, Accept, Manowar, Grave Digger, Judas Priest, etc.) At this time (it was about 2004-05) there were many components (singers, drummers and bass players) going in and out of the band, but things came to a point when Marco Mauceri (bass) joined in, during the Summer of 2006: with him in the line-up, the main incarnation of the band, that today is still unchanged, came to life. At the same time, the three decided to change musical style and the appeareance of the band. They decided to become an Hard n' Heavy metal band, strongly devoted to the '80s scene, expecially to the mid-'80s L.A. glam metal scene. So Unavenged changed in Hot Rod!! The first line-up of the band was composed by: Christian Balsamo (guitars), Mirko Di Bella (guitars), Marco Mauceri (bass), Alfio Bonaccorsi (drums; Spreadin'Fear) and Letizia Ferrara (vocals). The band starts working on covers (Vixen, W.A.S.P., Saxon, White Lion, Lita Ford, Dio, etc.) and on their own songs, also playing for the first time in front of an audience (January 2007). Shortly after, due to extra-musical reasons, Alfio Bonaccorsi is forced to leave the band (January 2007). His replacement is an old acquaintance from the early "Unavenged-period": Francesco Riscica (Lego System, Alturiak, and billions of other bands!) With this new line-up, Hot Rod play as support act for Fighting Warriors and re-arrange their songbook. During the Summer of 2007, Francesco leaves the band due to logistic reasons, and after this new split-up, Hot Rod decide to look for a new and more lasting line-up. New members are: Riccardo Zimbone (drums; October 2007) and Claudia Pagliaro (vocals; December 2007; ex-Zero In Condotta). With this brand new line-up Hot Rod were finally able to extend their songbook, and to play some gigs in Catania's pubs. During the Spring/Summer of 2008, Hot Rod record and mix their first, totally self produced demo, that comes out in October/November of the same year. It features four brand new tracks, three of which were originally written for the Unavenged project, and due to this it sounds more like heavy metal, than hard rock. Hot Rod were born out in Semptember 2006. After a first heavy metal influenced phase, the band decides to change its own style towards Hard n' Heavy/'80s Glam Metal. After this (change of style) several live shows, line-up changes and the recording of two demo cds followed. The first came out in 2008, featuring four unreleased tracks, three of whose were written in the pre-Hot Rod era, and so they sound more like heavy metal than hard rock. The second demo came out in October 2011; this one features as well four unreleased tracks that finally show the band's Hard Rock/Glam attitude. In August 2011 Hot Rod have been awarded at first place in the "Cover Band Fest" in Leonforte, a contest entered by bands coming from the whole Sicily. In October 2011 Hot Rod reach the finals at the 3° Music Festival "The Pub" in Barrafranca, and are awarded with the "Mostra del Cinema di Sicilia" prize, that will allow them to perform during the "Euno Film Festival" kermesse.

Gli Hot Rod nascono nel Settembre 2006. Dopo trascorsi votati all’Heavy classico, si decide di improntare la band su sonorità Hard and Heavy/Glam Metal anni ’80. A seguire un'intensa attività live, numerosi cambi di line-up e la registrazione di due demo. Il primo nel 2008 contenente quattro brani inediti, tre di questi scritti nel periodo pre-Hot Rod, caratterizzati quindi da sonorità più vicine all'heavy metal che all'hard rock. Il secondo, uscito nell'ottobre 2011, contiene anch'esso 4 inediti che esprimono finalmente l'anima Hard Rock/Glam della band. Nell'agosto 2011 gli Hot Rod si aggiudicano il primo posto al Cover Band Fest di Leonforte, contest che ha visto in gara band di tutta la Sicilia. Ad ottobre dello stesso anno, giunti in finale al 3° Music Festival "The Pub" di Barrafranca, ricevono il premio "Mostra del Cinema di Sicilia" che darà la possibilità alla band di esibirsi in occasione della kermesse cinematografica “Euno Film Festival”.
