About me:
Hey what's up? How about a little about me ;) If it's cool, fast and has wheels I'm there. I've been racing cars, bikes, scooters, karts...you name it since an early age and it's my true passion. My last open wheel race was in Mexico City at the Grand Premio racing for Herdez Racing in the Formula Renault Series. Since then I've raced in various series and plan on campaigning Revo1 Racings Subaru WRX in the NASA TT series and at Rally Targa Newfoundland. When not racing I drive for General Motors / BMW N.A at select shows or events.
When not doing something in the motorsport industry I work for Methodist Hospital as an IT Analyst. It's a cool job and pays the bills so it works. Other things I enjoy include music, photography, pool, coffee, good conversation and you know...pleasurable things ;)
I have a kick ass personality and passion for life. Not only do I have a passion for life but I love to go out and always have people smiling. I'm Latin, born in November which makes me a Scorpio. This means I have a big heart, fiery temper, risk taker, hopeless romantic and have mad skillz in lot's of things I do ;) I have a unique personality and anyone who knows me would agree. I really do love music and the live music scene, due to my bro being in
The Flamin Hellcats, I grew up around it. My other bro Randy Bling D plays with the
Sleeping Rubys. If you haven't checked then out you need too. I'm close with my family and dig them. Have a wonderful sis with 2 rockin kids, Evan and Jamie and the coolest folks.
Sometimes, it's easier to get to know someone simply by looking at pictures. So check out my pics here on myspace or click the link below. If you're going to send a friends request at least shoot me a message first :)
About the Photographer
A Native Texan and born to a middle class family from Mexico, Jay Marroquin has always had a sense for adventure. Photography was not his first love, but more of an acquired taste and passion. Marroquin’s first true passion was racing. At the age of 8, he got his first taste of competition. Starting off in competitive cycling and go-karts, the natural progression to automobile racing was inevitable. At age 13, Marroquin started competing in automobiles. With a natural gift for driving, the checkered flag and wins in various categories was not far away.
With a fascination for cars and anything mechanical since early childhood, Marroquin would now try his luck not only behind the wheel, but with a wrench as well. Not being satisfied by his first car’s initial performance, he learned the importance of mechanic skills, hard work, car setups and the physics of car characteristics. Throughout the years, his competitive spirit and passion would have him driving everything from go-karts, sports cars to Formula cars on the pro level. The seed was now planted…
From in front of the lens, to behind the camera!
For Marroquin, the time had now come to bring the same passion and excitement from racing to photography. To capture all the moments he had experienced; the thrill of life at 200mph, world travels, exotic beauties, children playing, to a simple coffee with a friend or stranger in a café. The idea that timeless moments could be frozen in time, caught on film and revisited countless times drew his interest.
Jay Marroquin was shaped by his life. Not only by his passion for racing, but also by his loving family. Two talented rock star brothers, his cool sister and her two awesome kids, Evan and Jamie. All this polished by two extremely warm, generous people known as Mr. and Mrs. Marroquin who helped him appreciate the simple and exciting things life has to offer.
Jay Marroquin Photography,
a kick ass personality and passion for life!
