"If Frank Zappa and Neil Young had conceived a child together, it'd be...a miracle of science. However, if the child had been allowed to live and perchance to develop an interest in long walks on the beach and talking about itself in the third person, its name would very likely be Sally Hackett™.
Once described as The Jerry Seinfeld of song writing by an untraceable source on the internet, Sally’s lyrics tackle difficult topics of today, such as lesbian furniture removal and the joys of becoming intimate with whitegoods. Her satirical pen leaves no stone unturned as Sally searches for songs a cut above the standard introspective singer-songwriter fare.
7 out of 10 Elvis impersonators agree that Sally Hackett is better than 12 sex crazed wombats in your bathtub.
With influences ranging from her imaginary parents to Bobby McFerrin via Django Reinhardt but none of the technical ability of the aforementioned artists, Sally’s music covers a few genres but is best described as halfassed Jazzy-blues-pop Folk-Rock.
Sally has played shows in and around Sydney, supporting artists such as Fuji Collective, Deaf Hedge, The Bakery and loads of other bands 10 or more people have heard of and she is currently working on her debut album which is expected to be finished by 2010. "
