Tracy Collins
(lead vocals, percussion) A force of nature that is just now sharing her glorious pipes with the public at large. Tracy has been around music her whole life, vastly appreciating and listening to all kinds of different music. While living in Germany, she learned her "vocal mojo" from a great friend/musician by the name of Tony Bulluck. Tracy puts her heart and soul into every performance and we love her like grits from Falls Mill!
Aaron Helton - (keys, vocals) Inexplicably known as “Neb” to some, Aaron brings a tasty colorific seasoning to the Soup mix, courtesy of 2 hands and a bad-ass digital clavier. He is a veteran of a few Huntsville bands (Paone, the Carnaby Loafers, and MojoGoon, among others) and holds a doctorate in Cool. No lie.
Matt C. (drums, vocals) The man with the beat, who's always there on the "1". Matt 's been beating the 'pots & pans' since 94' and has grown into one-bad-mamajama! Matt's fondiness for "eternal blackness" sets him apart from the rest. By the by, God is good!
Brian Hudson (geetar, vocals) "Brain" or "preciate ya"as he is known, is a real head-case and has found a way to beat down his demons while playing with Hot Soup. He's played in several bands (Black Root Ensemble, Paper Canoe, Just Us, etc.), teaches guitar, and likes his biscuits and gravy..
Orami Rutledge (bass, vocals) The Cornerstone of the group who lays down the big bottom end, the roux, if you will. Orami hails from Fayetteville, TN and has played in more bands than Carter's got pills. He's real, up in it, slappin it around, talkin about it's momma, and hangin it out to dry. Orami may or may not be a long lost child of Dr. John. They don't come much funkier, ya'll..

Take the influences and strip it down to a 4 piece with a female singer, and that's where we stand (or at least what we aspire to).
"HOT SOUP" is a delicious melting pot of infectious blues & funk with all the right ingredients of Janis Joplin, Bobby Womack and Alabama blues mixed just right for your grooving pleasure."

One of the largest, single day Rock n' Roll parties in the valley's history is going to take place on June 7th at The Crossroads Music Hall, 115 Clinton Ave. E., in downtown Huntsville. "MUSIC 4 MEDS" is the "Concert to Benefit The Community Free Clinic". Doors open at 1:30PM, and music begins at 2:00PM, and will continue nonstop until the wee hours.
A minimum donation of $10.00 is requested.
I imagine we all wish we were wealthy enough to write a huge check to solve the problems that arise, but for most of us, the best we can do is pitch in a little, and try to get the job done. If you can afford to show up on June 7th and donate a few bucks, we promise to play our hearts out for you and make it worth your while.
Plan on coming out and being a part of this celebration. Together we can do a lot to help our community, and have a great time doing it! Hope to see you there!
Thanks so much for your help and support. - Sonny Edwards
