About me:

See the 2009 Hotties calendar!

The Hotties of Harm Reduction Calendar is an project aimed at providing support to several San Francisco Bay Area harm reduction organizations doing public health work. Specifically, 100% of the funds raised go directly to help these groups stop the spread of of HIV through grassroots syringe exchange and educational work. If this is something you believe in and want to support, please consider helping out in some way.

December 17th is http://www.swopusa.org/dec17/
International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers. This event was created to call attention to hate crimes committed against sex workers all over the globe. Originally thought of by Dr. Annie Sprinkle and started by the Sex Workers Outreach Project USA as a memorial and vigil for the victims of the Green River Killer in Seattle Washington. International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers has empowered workers from over cities around the world to come together and organize against discrimination and remember victims of violence. During the week of December 17th, sex worker rights organizations will be
http://www.swopusa.org/dec17/locations.htm
staging actions and vigils to raise awareness about violence that is commonly committed against sex workers. The assault, battery, rape and murder of sex workers must end. Existing laws prevent sex workers from reporting violence. The stigma and discrimination that is perpetuated by the prohibitionist laws has made violence against us acceptable. Please join with sex workers around the world and stand against criminalization and violence committed against prostitutes.

seventy five years since the end of prohibition -- time to end the war on drugs, take narcotics distribution out of the hands of violent mobsters, regulate drugs for consistency and purity, treat addiction medically rather than criminally -- aw fuggit, i'm preaching to the choir --

W miarę możliwości już teraz zacznij planować te sobotnie popołudnie i dołącz do tysięcy palaczy ziela, którzy tam będą! The prison population in the US is more than the combined populations of Alaska and Wyoming

The Prison Population Rate in the US (2.03 million people) is larger than ANY other country--
only RUSSIA (.86 million people) and CHINA (1.51 million people) come close. (2003)

in 2003:
55% of Federal Prison inmates were drug offenders
this is 86,972 individuals

in 2002:
21.4% of all adults in State Prisons were drug offenders
this is 265,000 individuals

of 440,670 Jail inmates in 2002--
112,447 were for drugs...
about 25%
48,823 were possession charges,
56,574 for trafficking/sale

it costs between $20,000-$30,000 per prisoner per year
lets do the math
$25,000 times 351,972=$8,799,300,000

just to pay the prison costs...this does not include
catching the "criminal"

According to the Office of National Drug Control Policy
Feds spend $3,000,000,000 (around that) to incarcerate
drug offenders

in 2005 there were 265,100 state prison inmates for DRUGS:
47.5% were African American
23.27% were Latino/Hispanic and
24.33% were Caucasian

it gets worse:

"Among the more than 2.1 million offenders incarcerated on June 30, 2004 and estimated
576,000 were black males between 20 and 39 years old"

Information above has a variety of sources, I am personally quoting from
"Drug War Facts" 5th Edition, Edited by Douglas McVay--
Thank you Doug for all your work!

Imagine what our country could do with this kind of money...imagine the innocent lives that would be spared...

No Victim No Crime

the ACA started in 1870 to find ways to get cheap labor following the

13th Amendment:

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
