Well, we sound like HotWingJones! But, we have been told we sound like The Stones, Springsteen, The Animals, The Kinks, Santana, The Black Crowes, Neil Young, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
An eclectic group of players with a stylistically varied mix of original compositions and cover songs, HotWingJones has been a mainstay in the Central Pennsylvania music scene for eight years. Not quite a classic rock band, and not quite a roots rock band, HotWingJones feels familiar, but sounds different. Some have called HotWingJones a garage band for grown-ups. Whatever the description, the band has the distinction of being voted by the readers of Harrisburg Magazine the "Simply the Best" local band in 2004 and 2005, and has received the "Readers Choice Award" in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. This perennial local favorite writes and performs songs about lost love, lost opportunities, libations and American cuisine.
In 2005, HotWingJones teamed up with veteran NEPA producer/musician Bret Alexander (The Badlees, Breaking Benjamin) at Saturation Acres Recording Studio to record their debut EP, “Saturated,” a varied blend of original road-tested tunes. Bret is noted both locally and nationally for being the main songwriter and multi-instrumentalist for The Badlees as well as for his stellar production of singer-songwriters and up and coming artists. HotWingJones has reunited with Bret for their sophomore effort, a full length record slated for a late 2009 release that promises to be even more diverse than their original offering.
In the end, HotWingJones is just five guys writing some good tunes, putting on a great show, and having as much fun as possible while on stage.
