Hello there americana music lovers! You just found the official website of Hound Dog Hill. Hound Dog Hill is a six piece neo-traditional string band from the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. Founded in 2003 by a young banjo player and singer named Cutch Tuttle, these boys make music the old time way, using all acoustic instruments and drawing influence from the Valley's rich musical heritage. In the five years they have been playing together, Hound Dog Hill has evolved into a high energy string band that plays the kind of music rarely heard today. They have been featured on several radio and tv stations across the valley, including WHSV TV 3, WVLS Appalachian Radio, WXJM 88.1, & WTJU 91.1. In 2006, they released "Twisted Sneergrass", a self produced CD retrospective that displays their collective drive and talent. The Hound Dog Hill boys have played County Fairs, Bar rooms, BBQ's, Festivals, and all kinds of benefits and gatherings, and always, ALWAYS puts on a great show. In the summer of 2007, Hound Dog Hill was awarded several awards, including 1st place Best Original Song at the Appalachian Sting Band Festival in Clifftop, West Virginia, along with 2nd Place Neo-Traditional Band. Everywhere they travel in their 1985 converted church bus they are met with praise from the people who love the ancient tones and old time music most. Catch this band sometime or better yet, book them for your next event!

I know it's kind of far away, but I'm having a benefit concert on february 6th to help send me to europe this summer for 20days for foreign study. It's with people to people (peopletopeople.com) and it's a lot of work to get into it. Essays, an interview, and other stuff too lol. Unfortunately, I can't pay the acts due to it's a event raising money, not giving it away. Sorry! I'm hoping for all kinds of acts to perform; stand-up comedy and music ranging from screamo to bluegrass to rap/pop.
Let me know if you're up for it :) I'd love for you guys to attend!

Hey Houndhill Gang, I've got a radio show for a few weeks - so, please tune into the Paul Hughes Show (filling in for Gordon Hotchkiss) on Celtic Music Radio this Wednesday between 7pm – 9pm UK time. As well a Scottish, Irish and American folk/roots music I’ll be chatting with Paddy Callaghan about being selected for the finals of the BBC Young Trad Musician of the Year and hear him playing the harp and box. Celtic Music Radio is available in and around Glasgow on 1530 AM (MW) and you can listen anywhere else in the world on the internet at www.celticmusicradio.net and click on “Listen Live” in the top right of the screen. Thanks for reading down this far.
