As a child, Adrian would ransack his parents collection of 45s and play them on their hi-fi. As a teenager, he bought a guitar & began taking lessons. Within a year he started teaching himself music scales and theory. He started his first punk rock band, and was soon promoted to lead singer as well. He spent many years playing gigs in various bands.
He began the DJing journey recently when he invested in his first set of Technics 1200 turntables in September of 2006. Like all junkies, Adrian soon found himself spending hours every single day mixing beats in the bedroom. Surprisingly, although he had always listened to techno and trance, he soon found himself gravitating towards a funky house sound. He couldn't stop himself from going into debt buying house records.
Adrian M, as he was known at the time, emerged on the scene amongst the most supportive house music community and friends he could ask for. After a performance & bookings for the bi-weekly Lush party, Adrian was brought onboard as resident to Fusion which was hosted alongside DJ Roman at Thaiphoon. Over two years later, Adrian has now been in the lab working on his own tracks.
"I'm DJing & wetting my feet to production due to the passion I have always had for dance music. Music has always been a healing to me, and an avenue for expression. I've played in so many bands that eventually broke up - it's heart wrenching each time. However, DJing is an excellent way to continue [my] expression without the total reliance on others. House music IS a spiritual thing."
"I think sometimes people are confused about the identity of my sets... I play house - jackin', electro, glitchy, funk. I think that sums it up nicely."
