About Household Name Records

HOUSEHOLD NAME RECORDS began in 1996 with the plan to release one compilation to promote bands that had played at our “Dischord Inferno” gig nights in Camden and Brixton (which had started in 1993)…12 years later we have had over 100 releases …

HOUSEHOLD NAME RECORDS is a label dedicated to the variety of sounds and styles that make up punk rock and hardcore. It is impossible to define a Household Name sound and that’s the way it will stay.

Just as you continue to find new sounds which thrill you, we refuse to be a handy musical reference point but aim to release sounds that have excited us both from the UK and elsewhere throughout the continued life of the label. Despite our excitement we try not to force our music on people more than is necessary to get you to hear some great bands… the rest is up to you.

Sonic Boom Six release a new single ‘The Concrete We’re Trapped Within (It’s Yours)’ on July 6th through our own Rebel Alliance Recordings label. The first single to be taken from the critically-acclaimed album City of Thieves, the track’s mix of socially-conscious lyrics, dynamic rock hooks, jungle drum loops and energetic ska-punk is the ideal introduction to the signature sound of the Boom. In addition to recording a live session for the Radio 1 Punk Show, we will be playing acoustic in-store shows up and down the country around the single’s release to promote the track and sign copies of the single and album. Would anybody be interested in having there bands tracks mixed/remixed or maybe a dub version. Including Sound Repair, Editing, extra processing and effects. Over fifteen years sound mixing experience. Most recently I’ve done the new Splitters single (Stop the Clock/Trip & Fall) and part of the team that mixed Roddy Radiation's (The Specials) new album.
