housekeeping are a collection of talented djs and producers based in and around london. our music style is varied, but always in keeping with the house vibe. taking inspiration from classic disco and jazz/funk, we play and produce the finest selection of soulful, funky, upfront and classic house music. if you want a sophisticated, party atmosphere for your venue, housekeeping guarantee to provide it.

most dictionaries would define housekeeping as “the performance or management of household tasks”. however we won’t be doing any of your domestic chores! instead we’ve created our own meaning - call it our philosophy: “the provision and support of quality music that takes time to source and pride to play”. don’t’ scratch it, polish it! we tend to dj in bars and clubs in the home counties and in london, using both cd and vinyl decks, in conjunction with efx units and samplers. last year we expanded our reach across the globe, playing at a variety of parties and venues in sydney, oslo, barcelona, ibiza and just recently in new york. get in touch with us, we dont bite, but bark and awful lot! we’re cleaning up! the housekeeping music studio was finished in 2004, giving us the facility to produce our own style of music 24/7! since then, we have composed a number of original tracks. we also re-edit our favourite classic rare groove, soul and disco tunes to incorporate in our dj sets. feel free to listen to our productions.

james started djing in the bedroom at the age of 16. he played his first clubs in birmingham, whilst at university. after a brief lull dabbling in the world of banking he resumed his love of djing and is part of the housekeeping collective. james’ influences range across all underground dance music from 70s jazz funk through to disco and house.

carl started composing music at the tender age of 14 on his amiga. through university he developed his technical skills and applied them to his music. he has his own studio and is still producing music as well as djing with housekeeping. bringing technology to the dancefloor using mediums such as cds, vinyl and mp3. cutting, mashin up and re-editing.
