AND OTHERS THAT WILL BE ADDED AS WE REMEMBER THEM OR THEY SHOW UP TO PLAY!
Richard Houser and the main “Company” member, Greg Smith, have long been immersed in the local/regional music scene. Along with group credits including The Wandering Zulu Brothers, Wurm, Clear, Blue Rapture, The Reagan Boggs Band, and now The JimJams, Richard and Greg have performed in an acoustic duet fashion under a variety of names for 10 years.
However, Houser & Co. is much more than an acoustic duet. The concept of Houser & Co. is to vary the personnel from show to show. The audience never knows who will perform. Heck, Richard and Greg never know which musicians will show up! The result always seems to work (which we thank the talented “Company” members for that), leaving the crowd smiling and enjoying the performance. And, fans know they can see “The Company” month after month, and see something different every time.
Richard Houser has also recently illustrated Barbara Kingsolver’s best selling non-fiction novel, “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle”. The book’s frontispiece has been made into a poster, which can be purchased at www.richardahouser.com. Copies of the book can be ordered from www.kingsolver.com. Richard is also co-chef of the Meadowview, VA restaurant called “The Harvest Table”. The restaurant, and attached general store, furthers the concepts of Barbara’s novel: Consuming locally grown, organic food, with full knowledge of the source of supply.
So, set a night aside to come see Houser & Co. You won’t leave disappointed, and you may even be humming a tune or two when you leave. But you will leave smiling, and thinking “I just saw a great SHOW”!
It's great to see that you're still playing out Richard. The "Fingers Crossed" CD I bought a few years back brought back memories of The Starving Artist & The Tavern. Next time I'm in town I'll check your music schedule.
Richard- Thanks for cooking such wonderful vittles for our anniversary dinner! What a kick ass restaurant! Also, where does a fan get a vegetannual print?
Happy Valentines day.

Thanks for taking a chance and making space for some vaudevillian ragtime/jugband blues and hillbilly swing!

Sorry I missed it too. Was high in the skies on Thursday somewhere over Indiana. Look forward to the show though and thanks for hanging out with Jared and Tom.
