The Houston Band Coalition is a non profit organization consisting of quality local and regional musical acts, enthusiasts, sponsors and fans with the collective goal of increasing the state of awareness as well as preservation of our musical arts in Houston Texas.

ABOUT THE HOUSTON BAND COALITION _________________________________________________________________

The Houston Band Coalition Organization We are a group of diverse but like minded people who hope to merge our ideas and efforts in order to establish, preserve and progress the gift of local music in our area.

WHAT WE DO

By merging Bands/Musicians with Fans and Industry we provide a hub for our local music scene. We attempt to organize and package the scene in order to give our great local music an identy of its own. Educating the public and increasing the state of awareness of the local scene is vital to preservation and progressing our local musical arts.

PRIMARY GOALS

1. Collect the best musical acts and bands in Houston and set the standard for local musical quality.

2. Provide a forum for Houston's musical acts to network and share vital information as well as show planning and promotional opportunities.

3. Introduce the public to Houston's best local musical talents and create an environment that enables musical acts to increase show attendance and support.

4. Introduce sponsors and music related vendors with bands and fans in order increase promotional tools for musical acts to use so they may be heard by more fans and industry.

5. Provide a "face" for local Houston music and preserve the arts so that it may never go away through education and awareness.

The Forums area is an online interaction arena. Information and relationships can be shared and built here. Musicians can put shows together, share valuable industry links and leads, interact with fans, etc. Fans can meet their next favorite band or musician and build a friendship. HOW TO BECOME AN HBC ENDORSED BAND _________________________________________________________________

Thanks for your interest in the Houston Band Coalition! Below you will find the basic criteria for membership.

Technical Criteria Needed To Gain Membership:

* Must be based in the general Houston area.

* Must have recorded music demo of one or more complete songs.

* Must have active Website or MySpace page.

* Must complete application and supply contact information for their band.

* Acts that have met the above stated requirements will be voted on by all HBC registered users through an on-line voting process after playing a new membership showcase show.

Thank you for your interest in helping us support your local music scene and among other things simply helping us also preserve and grow the numbers of people that locally turn out to your shows. We are a unique organization that has many good goals and people behind our movement.

Having an endorsement is not a guarantee that your band will “make it” or be signed by a major label, or even play a World Tour. It will however make you a firm supporter of the local music scene. You may find that it can help you get one step closer to your own bands goals while making many new friends and exposing countless others to your own music.

Last but not least, your band would be part of a broader movement to put Houston on the Map Nationally. Other cities like Seattle, LA, Austin and Detroit for example have all been put on the map by explosive movements of this kind. Movements where bands and sounds from their local area jumped in unison and said, “Here we are - come listen”.
