About me:

Hey all you Food Network fans, we're the Food Network Kitchens, the experts behind the scenes of your favorite shows - Emeril Live, Iron Chef America, 30 Minute Meals, you name it. There are about 20 of us, all from different backgrounds and areas of the food industry, and our job is to test and develop recipes, make the food you see on air beautiful, write books and more.
Who I'd like to meet:
We want to meet all of you out there who are just learning how to cook, just graduated college and setting up your first apartment/kitchen, or just married and trying to figure what to make for dinner... Why?

Because we have the cookbook for you.

How to Boil Water is an ideal reference book: its jam-packed with genuinely useful information presented in such mouth-wateringly inspiring way anyone can use it. We demystify everything from buying pots and pans to throwing a dinner party without stressing to dealing with a pomegranate. How to Boil Water gives basic techniques as well as cool ways to put your own spin on things, spelling it all out with clear instructions, handy tips, interesting historical tidbits, and a ton of photos that clearly illustrate the difference between slicing and dicing, for instance, or how to carve a turkey. There are even quick fixes for dinnertime disasters (if your salad comes out wilted and gloppy, throw in another handful of greens and retoss).

In addition to everyday favorites like Chicken Curry, Chinese Lacquered Baby Back Ribs, Lasagne, and Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, there are sophisticated, globe-trotting dishes that pack plenty of flavor while still keeping it simple -- Spiced Edamame, Pan-Fried Salmon with Cucumber-Radish Salad, and Polenta with Sausage, to name a few. Want to show your honey some birthday love without breaking a sweat? Bake a luscious Birthday Cake with Chocolate Frosting and watch those eyes light up. Parental units descending for Thanksgiving? No worries -- Roast Turkey with Gravy, Green Beans with Shallots, and Apple Pie will have Mom asking you for the recipes.

The book is in stores now and is available on our website, so click here to buy it! We're looking forward to your feedback and questions, and we can't wait to hear what you think.

my whole family watches Food Network,
it's pretty much the only reason we pay for our service! (that and, well, spongebob...)
Alton Brown has to be our favorite, but we've fallen in love with so many, Paula, Rachel, Giatta, (Hope I spelled it right!) Bobby, I know it is silly, but i feel like I know these people!
They certaintly make my kitchen more fun, as well as my grocery shopping, but, we are not that easy to please in restaurants anymore, in fact, I would just rather stay home and cook!
Also, loving the Next Food Network Star,
you just never know what will happen in a reality show huh?
I am pulling for Amy,
I feel like I could really learn something from her.
And I love that she shows her family her love through taking pride in her cooking,
and that having kids doesn't have to mean a life of mac n cheese (though Alton's version is to die for, specially with Paula's chicken and my famous mashed potatos!)
Hope all goes well in your kitchen!
if not, well, make a sauce you'll be fine :)

Thanks for the add. We love the channel. When my daughter was little, we would wake up on Saturday mornings to find that instead of cartoons, she was watching you. Too funny. Would love it if you dropped by & signed my guestbook. ~sharon~
