"I never liked that tedious little girl. There's precocious and then there's 'Ask me one more irksome question and I'll pluck out your tongue.'" -- The Red Queen in Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND

I'm beginning to develop a taste for horror -- books, movies, what have you -- involving mothers, pregnant women, evil children, etc. These tend to be some of the most disturbing tales, if you ask me.
I really want to do something creative, but I've never been very artistic. Maybe learn to tie hemp, make candles/soap, knit/crochet, sew, or something. I've been watering plants and baking to fill that urge, but it just doesn't cut it. Dumb blonde jokes -- I love 'em!
I listen to almost anything else, and you could just as easily find me listening to blues one day, classic rock the next, followed by a day of baroque.

I love Johnny Depp. I don't think he's ever been in a bad movie. Oh, and Eddie Izzard -- my favorite executive transvestite. Michael Moore -- he makes documentaries and being a whacko liberal fun again. Christopher Walken is soo funny -he's a genius, I love that dry/silly humor. Gotta have more cowbell! Bruce Campbell's pretty awesome. Hitchcock is absolutely my favorite director, followed closely by Tim Burton. That's so typical, I know, but what can I say? Limited exposure means limited taste. And hey, aren't they popular for a reason? Yeah, that's what I thought. :P Here's a notable quote (name the movie and get a prize): "Kenny, your glass has too much air in it." I rarely have a "favorite" anything, but I recently found what may qualify as my favorite movie of all time: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde from 1931, starring Frederic March and Miriam Hopkins. It was brilliant. And awesome.

But when I do watch...
The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. They're the best source of TV news I've found (yet even they get overly biased and repetitive) -- and they're not even real news!!
The Twilight Zone (original and 80s episodes), Dark Shadows, The Office, Breaking Bad, Hung, South Park, various shows in the Adult Swim lineup.

I also like to express my opinion on world events and books; you can read my opinions at http://rachael-rachael-quite-contrary.blogspot.com/.
I didn't have much time to read while I was in school, but I've recently found myself with some extra time on my hands. Know a good book I should read? Clue me in.
Right now I'm reading an "interactive" thriller, Personal Effects: Dark Art by J.C. Hutchins. He also has a podcast for the prequel, Personal Effects: Sword of Blood.
I'm also in the middle of The Walking Dead, a comic book about the zombie apocalypse. There are a few others, like The Awakening that I'd like to get into.
Alice in Wonderland literature is certainly right up my alley as well. I really want to get started on The Looking Glass Wars and a related graphic novel series centered on the Mad Hatter.
Comic books, kids' lit...does she get nerdier? Indeed she does. Mark off Jaws ripoffs like the Meg series and LOTR ripoffs -- er, I mean LOTR-inspired books -- like R.A. Salvatore's elf/dwarf/orc series, which is also related to D&D stuff as well.
I also love classics. I worship the great authors of yesteryear.
Sigmund Freud. Put his theories in a historical perspective, and he was a genius. It all boils down to sex and our mothers. Hopefully not together. Gross.
Karl Marx. Takes a lot of guts to say we'd be better off putting a bunch of ignorant poor folks in charge. Don't like socialism? Show me a successful example of PURE capitalism, then. What's that? That's what I thought... J.K. Rowling. Single mom writes book, makes millions. Only in America...No wait, she's British.
