Dancing Queen

Life is Beautiful needs to be mentioned as one of my favorite movies. I have a few top favorites but mainly it's Disney's The Little Mermaid and Dirty Dancing. Each movie has affected me in a different way, Little Mermaid was my favorite movie growing up, i never even owned the movie since we were too poor to afford it, so i resorted to watching it over and over again at friend's houses. When i was in Kindergarten i professed to the entire class that "When i grow up, I'm gonna be The Little Mermaid!" Sadly my dream never came true. Dirty Dancing was a movie that touched me in difficult times as a teen, i loved to dance, hence the name Dancing Queen. I had seen the movie but never paid full attention till we saw it in Dance Class, when she says her real name is Frances, my heart skipped a beat. I had someone to relate to in name! Growing up i never liked my name, I had "an old lady name" I hated it so much people called me Nanny instead. That and for someone who's named Frances could get a guy like Patrick Swayze, yeah i was hooked. Life is Beautiful Finally really just touched me in so many ways, The holocaust truly was a terrible thing, and so many people were affected by it. Even my own family who weren't even Jewish were put into concentration camps during WWII, as Spanish political refuges, and i'd never seen something that showed me how badly the war truly was and seeing that movie not only made me laugh, but made me truly cry and feel bad for the characters. It's a classic and a must see for all.
