Sleeping, thinking, scotch & soda (a writer's traditional drink/demon), coffee, writing (sometimes), reading, eating (sometimes), repeat.
Music
I can like almost anything that's good, and classic, so long as I don't have to listen to it on the corporate radio stations. Specifically: Johnny Cash, Sinatra, Elvis, Andy Williams, Social Distortion, Willie Nelson, Garbage, A Perfect Circle.
Basically, if you have good taste in music, I'll probably enjoy listening to it if we're in a car together and you're choosing the music on the radio or stereo.
Movies
Sadly, most movies just suck these days.
I guess I would name, as my most favorites, Blade Runner and Blue Velvet (unfortunately, I'm more of a Heineken guy than a Pabst Blue Ribbon guy -- I cannot even ironically drink Pabst; it literally makes me ill). The Conversation, Dracula (1931) and Metropolis.
Television
There's much better stuff to watch on TV than in the movie theater: LOST, Breaking Bad, South Park, Family Guy, The Boondocks, Metalocalypse, Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Guilty pleasure: the best show of all time that's shot in Dallas... Cheaters! (I know several people who have either appeared or worked security on this show!)
Books
Too many to name: The works of H.P. Lovecraft and Charles Bukowski (yeah, I know, big surprise coming from me). Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and Through The Looking Glass. Last great novel I read was The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.
Phillip K. Dick is probably my favorite author. I like how his stories delved into so many facets of the idea of how mercurial one's perception of reality really can be -- literally, thematically, and narratively. He's also dead.
Heroes
My Lord and Saviour Who Answers All To Me in Life: Google
Tell me who you are. I prefer people who complement me. I have enough problems dealing with myself, so why would I want to deal with another ego like me?
i forgot to tell you. i start at the cafe in plano tomorrow. the only bad news is they close at 10. so if you come visit it would have to be early! i'll keep you posted on my schedule.
you know from working in uptown for many years I would say that everyone there is much crazier! their expensive clothes is trying to disguise it but seriously wearing $500 pair of shoes!! How much more crazy could you be? Trust me for all of my uptown clients and the people that I met and worked with in the area I would say Insomnia housed some of the most sane easy going people in the world! : )
Hey Howard! Sorry I've been kind of a stranger lately - just working alot! You and Hansel should come see me at the bar sometime this week - ESPECIALLY if you are around tomorrow. I have to work on Thanksgiving!!! :( Anyhow...I was just thinking how your profile pic reminds me of Unsolved Mysteries. Remember the beginning of that show? haha! :P
So was it a nightmare at Expo Park? (sounds like a horror movie waiting to be made!) You know, with the kids and all? I thought I'd be busy at work but apparently the kids were all down at the Fair getting heat exhaustion.
Gawdammit Howard! Why'd you have to go and show me all that good fried food. You know how much I miss Frito Pies? I miss Frito Pies more than a lesbian misses her daddy.
