HOWFENFEST: The most exciting thing to happen to Westhoughton since well, forever.
On Saturday 20th June 2009, Central Park, Westhoughton will host Howfenfest, a one day only event, bringing you the best in local musical talent together on one stage. The afternoon showing will be family orientated entertainment, with bands and soloists, whilst the evening, like last year, will host local up and coming bands.
The afternoon session will begin at 12pm, and stars internationally aclaimed favourites The Houghton Weavers, plus all-girl group Diamond (the band also stars Hollyoaks' Carley Stenson (Steph Cunningham.)
The evening session kicks off at approximately 4.30pm, and features up-and-coming local acts. Having headlined the festival last year, ex Our Fold guitarist Al McLaughin returns with Bony Ghosts, who are known for their highly energised live shows, and take the penultimate spot in this year's line-up. This year's headline act, The Jade Assembly, have built up a loyal following through relentless gigging. The Jade Assembly have their own powerful and unique- yet radio-friendly sound, and will headline the festival before going on to release their first single this summer. In addition to this, there will also be a fairground. Fun for all the family!
Hey. Just a thank you for adding or accepting us recently. We love having new fans and really appreciate your support. Nice to get new fans and stuff. We have quite a few gigs soon so it would be great to see some new faces down there.
