ABOUT DJ HOWIE-T

A self-confessed vinyl junkie from the age of 16, Howie has been promoting and DJ-ing since 1989. Always a Funky House music fan but loves listening to, and playing, anything with a soul, vocal, Latino and funky edge! Having played at several local bars and clubs Howie's first residency was at an Enfield public house called The Ridgeway. Wednesday's saw the likes of Premiership footballers and 'Page 3' models joining hundreds of people spilling out into the garden on hot summer evenings listening to the latest in US House music. By 1993 Howie was offered his first West End residency at another celebrity hang out, The Limelight Nightclub on Shaftesbury Avenue. From there more residencies followed for The 'O' Bar, Crazy Larry's, Storm, Mayfair Club, Hammersmith Palais, Hanover Grand, Sirocco and the award winning Cafe de Paris. Guest appearances for Howie also included The 'K' Bar, Buzz Bar, Ku Bar, Saint Bar, Legends, Sound Republic, Ormonds, Bagley's, Chocolate Bar, Jewel Bar, Graze Bar, Madam Jo Jo's and London Docklands Arena (New Year's Eve 2001/2 and 2002/3 to 11,000 people). Howie's reputation preceded him and promoters from further a field started to take notice. Space Nightclub and Chin FM radio station in Toronto, Canada (escorting DJ Ash); Hell Freezes Over in Chennai, India (Millennium Eve beach party to 5000 people); Eden Nightclub in San Antonio, Ibiza. In 2001 Howie met musician and music producer Sandy Nuttgens of dance act 'Skipraiders'. Together they have been writing music for Film, TV, Radio and Theatre as well as creating a new dance act. This is where the inspiration for FUNK-NATION.com came from. The new act is called 'FUNK-NATION' and Howie wanted to use a promotion to showcase his new material. To date Howie and Sandy have worked on material by MOLOKO, SWEETIE IRIE(who featured on the remix of Gorillaz No1 single 'Clint Eastwood') and LARA McALLEN and are busy remixing and producing tracks under the FUNK-NATION name. Among many other dance and media projects, Howie and Sandy are currently working on the first INDIGO LATES album.
