Influences
Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, John the Apostle, my Mom, Paul of Tarsus, Mr Lynn of RCK, Jimmy Gannon, Roger Thorpe, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, Kenny Burrell, George Benson, Herb Ellis, Richie Furay, Marshall Tucker, Duane Allman, Eddie Kirkland, Mark Elbaum, Frank Malley, Andy Hardin, Randy Ciarlante, Jimmy Eppard, Marc Giammarco, Steve Geraci, Steve Brown, Brian Murphy, Gary Burton, Lionel Hampton, Carmen Mcrae, Johnny Hartman, and many more, too numerous to mention.
Played in a Big Band under the direction of Roger Thorpe (Glen Miller, Sammy Kay). Used to do the club scene for many years, playing anything for a buck. Enjoyed jamming most of all. Covered a lot of James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Dylan, jazz standards, Marshall Tucker, blues, all kinds of stuff.
Had a band called the Moose River Band with my brothers, Joe on bass, Tom on drums, Colby Lewis singing, which was a lot of fun. We worked mostly NY and CT. Worked with many fine musicians in the Hudson Valley like: Edgar Goss, Kevin Cowan, Randy Ciarlante, Marc Giammarco, Marc Elbaum, Bill Griffiths, Ralph DiTrocchio, Andy Hardin. Finally had the opportunity to study with Jim Gannon (of Buddy Rich fame) for a short time. This was like a dream come true. Jim was writing some amazing tunes and playing them with his trio, which consisted of Steve Brown on guitar and Brian Murphy on vibes. Then:
Met Jesus Christ in 1985. Wow! He changed everything (man, that's an understatement). Sold all my music gear and just about dropped out of music, but the Lord prompted me to keep playing. So now I sing and play for Jesus Christ.
Debbie and I travel taking the Good News to the nooks and crannies of America, singing in parks, coffee houses, churches, concerts, wherever we can help people know the truth of Jesus Christ. Often we're joined by other musicians along the way, such as Biery Davis, a fine harmonica player. We've been playing foot-stompin music together since 2003. We also work with a band called Free Union, which includes Dale Woolum on bass, and Bruce Zenone on drums. Sometimes my good friend Ken Kotarski joins in on keys. www.myspace.com/freeunionband
We'd love to do an event at your location sometime. Contact me at www.howiecampbell.com and let's set something up.

He has put a new song in my heart . . . Psalm 40:3
God bless as you and Debbie continue to spread the Good News across America!!!! We look forward to seeing you in August. If you let me know the dates, I will hopefully arrange something for us!
We are back in Virginia for a while, playing dates around town. Dale is gigging with local musicians. Howie and Debbie are doing coffee houses and stuff. Bruce is - where? The van needs replacing after being clipped on the New York State Thruway. We were returning from Christmas concerts up north when old faithful was totaled. Bummer.
God is in control, so we await His provision. Then off across the nation again in April.
Howie and Debbie greetings HELLO and God bless !! i moved away from the Land Up Yonder....and back home to Lohio ! it came on suddenly but all has moved along so wonderfully. God has blessed me indeed. A great job...a good church..a place to serve..a chance to GROW....HAPPY NEW YEAR may it exceed all you could ask or imagine.....much love WILSON
Hey Howie, yeah I know it's been a long time for one of these messages... LOL! But like I said before if I've heard from you, you've heard from me... *smile* I've been going through somethings in my life and talking to others going through as well... and God just spoke a word to me... Hopefully if will help you as much as it helped me...
I was reading Joshua 24th chapter
God gave the people of Israel rest from all their enemies. In his farewell address, Joshua reminded the people of God's bountiful grace & mercy. He gave the Israelites command to help the avoid falling into most likely areas of temptation.
We must resist the temptation to sin and live in loving obedience to God.
Hold to His hand God's Unchanging Hand...build your hopes on things eternal... Hold to God's unchanging hand... I LOVE THAT HYMN! Do we find it hard to keep a grip on our day-to-day dependency on Christ? Or worse, have we lost our grip? When we feel we don't need to depend on Christ, we won't... Our natural tendency is to depend on self, not Christ. Depending on Christ is an act of the will by faith, not the natural reaction of our heart. God has the power to give us what we deserve, whether good or bad. I have come to fear, with reverence and awe, the God who is, for He is a consuming fire.
Have our abundant resources kept us form depending on God? have we lost our grip on God's help? Focus on a special need that only God can meet. Seek His help today and everyday...HOLD TO GOD'S UNCHANGING HAND!
Have a Blessed week & Father's Day! ~MUCH LOVE~ Until next time...tah...tah... *smile*
Hey Howie, I don't know how often you check this thing, but I really like "Where's the Love?" It's so serene and beautiful. Thank you for your uncompromising service.
Hi, I'm back... LOL! I'm truly blessed to have you in my life Howie... I just want to take this time to let you know I appreciate you! *smile*
It seems a lot of us are going through or have someone close to us going through... If not now.... you will.... There's a song that comes to mind... "Must Jesus bare the cross alone and all the world go free? NO! There's a cross for everyone & there's a cross for me..."
Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all....This is a blessed assurance!
Heres some encouragement... *smile*
We serve the God who designed the universe and set our world in motion. But those hands that hung the stars in the heavens also wiped away the tears of the widow and the leper. And they have/will wipe away your tears as well.
There has never been a time in the history of the world when there was not a rain cloud somewhere on the face of the earth. There may be blue skies for us occasionally, but the rain always comes. So, instead of looking for ways to escape problems....look for methods to face them head on. Remember trials come to make you strong....*smile*
Father, you are God and Creator, but we come to you as children coming to their father, as children who would ask there father to hold and comfort them, waiting & trusting in you for strength & wisdom....
As you stilled the storm on the Sea of Galilee, please still the storms that rage within our hearts? We know you will calm the whiling winds of fear and hurt that threaten out faith... Thank you Father for using these situations to draw us closer to you! *smile*
Well, Happy Black History month & Happy Valentines Day Howie... *smile* It's a month of love all the way round... well for me anyway, LOL!
There is no greater love than Jesus giving His life for us... so why not give you life back to Him, as an ultimate gesture of your love ... *smile*
Romans 12:1-21
God desires us to surrender every part of our lives to Him. Would you buy a house if you were only allowed to see one room? Would you purchase a car ti you were only permitted to see the tail lights? Would you judge a book after only reading one paragraph? No, me neither... *smile*
Good judgement requires a broad picture. Not only is that true in purchasing houses, cars & book, it's true in living life... One failure doesn't make a person a failure; one achievement doesn't make a person a success.
The end of the matter is better than it's beginning... Be patient in afflictions... I know it easier said than done, but it can be done... *smile*
Life's mishaps and tragedies are only a page out of a great big book. We have to be slow bout drawing conclusions. We must reserve judging our life's storms until we know the whole story...
"Don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself" God is the Author of our story. And He had already written the final chapter...
As a safety net, memorize Romans 12:1-2 Whenever you feel tempted, repeat theses verses in your mind & by God's power plan NOT to sin...LOL!
~MUCH LOVE~ Until next time...tah...tah... *smile*

Alright Howie, It's testomony time!!! I'll start it! LOL! First giving honor to God, who is worthy of ALL MY praise! I had not mention this to many people, cause God didn't lead me to. But after my surgery, My docotor told me I had cancer. Told me I was in the 3rd stage.... Sent me to a specialist, had a procedure done 2 Monday's ago to see just how far the cells had grown....The Specialist called me from her house that Friday morning and said "I know your a praying women, but I just don't understand this...Your report came back negative! She said I know what I saw..." But the test came back cancer free!!!! Glory to GOD!!!!!! Even if the situation was different, He's still faithfull & Just! I LOVE HIM!!! God IS still working miracles today! I wrote about this Scripture back in Sept. but it applies with this testimony...
Hebrews 11:1-40
These were examples of faith and obedience to God.
Faith is the belief that God is real and that He is good & and is true to His promises...
Matt. 5:3-11
God says that the more hopeless your circumstances, the more likely your salvation....LOL! aint' that good news, for those of us going through...LOL! The greater your cares, the more genuine your prayers.....The darker the room, the greater the need for light....
God's help is near and always available, but it is only given to those who seek it....
Faith is more that a belief in God. It is also a way of life. The examples in this scripture although imperfect, trusted God and gave their lives to Him...*smile*
God has never rejected a genuine gesture of faith....NEVER.....I know I can get a witness on that! LOL! Add your own testimony... *smile* Thank God for the prayers & faith of the righteous! Have a blessed week in the Lord and His promises...~MUCH LOVE~ Until next time...tah...tah...*smile*
Happy New Year, well almost! I hope and pray that your new year is far better than 07 with more laughter, joy, peace, love, and friendship, and that you grow closer to the Lord than ever before! Have a safe holiday season and we will catch ya next year. God Bless and Keep rockin for Jesus Dave
