Solitary, Poor, Nasty, Brutish, Short was recorded and mixed by Lachlan Mitchell in July 2008 and mastered by Steve Smart at 301.

"A five track EP is what's served up by Lungs this time around, like the album was a step-up from the debut EP, this one is another step-up from the album, which was a ripper, so they've done well to follow that up so nicely. Things are always going to be great when the first pick slide only takes 7 seconds to appear, and right after that, it's just blistering punk rock for the whole 45 seconds of 'Radical Science', The pace stays fast all the way through as their guitar heavy noise makes love to your ears. They have one of the most full sounds going around for a three piece, and a natural one which is another good thing, no overuse of any studio tools and trickery, they keep it realistic and easy to replicate live. There are no dull moments, just good solid tunes from one of the best the country has to offer at the moment.

It's about time in the cycle for this brand of melodic punk to poke it's head through once more, and who knows, Lungs could be the band that leads the charge, check it out, five tracks, all quality, you'd be a hard one to please if this doesn't entertain you.

I like a band who can be constantly active at pumping out new music, especially when they outdo themselves each time they put something new out. Hopefully this is just one of many more quality releases in the future. They are catching up quickly to those who set the mark before them, who knows where they will take it, you could be listening to the next flag bearers for Aussie punk rock."

An Anatomical Guide was recorded and mixed by Lachlan Mitchell in August/September 2007 and mastered by Steve Smart at 301.

"Certainly quite a meal of an album, 'An Anatomical Guide' sees this Sydney 3-piece serving up 14 tracks of Australia's finest punk rock. Of course with any healthy diet , variety is the key, and Lungs have it in spades." - Pee Zine

"There are flat out moments, there are sing-along moments and there are times you can just sit back and appreciate a good punk rock number that isn't simple and soulless." - Bombshellzine

Our debut EP BREATHE, BASTARD, BREATHE was recorded and mixed by Simon Berklemen at Big Jesus Burger in September 2006 and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side, New York.

"The beauty of this record is that almost every song is different and that from a trio is just spectacular… There are no gimmicks: it’s fast, it’s catchy, it’s fun and everything you could ask for in a record really." - Mar Garvey, Drum Media.

"...Sydney's Lungs...deliver a nice guitar heavy, melodic punk sound with a unique flavour to it, you won't find simple, lifeless sounds here, creative players make this one a solid listen from start to finish." - Bombshellzine.com

"The trio has has sculpted a lean and mean set of songs, with just enough sensitivity showing around the edges to warrant close and repeated listens." - BLUNT

We are Lungs, a Sydney punk rock trio with an attention deficit. A taste for the frantic means we like mixing the speed of skate punk and thrash with rock or something. We also seem to play, write and record at a fairly hyperactive pace.

Since we formed in the inner west of Sydney in 2006, we've been honoured to carry on a strong tradition of Australian fast punk, touring the country and playing shows with some of our favourite bands, including Propagandhi, NOFX, A Wilhelm Scream, Lagwagon, Bouncing Souls, Mach Pelican, The Scandal, Pour Habit, The City On Film and Blueline Medic.

We've recorded quite a bit of stuff in the last 2 years, beginning with an 8-song EP released in early ’07, ‘Breathe, Bastard, Breathe’, then our first full-length album later that year, 'An Anatomical Guide', followed by our recent new EP ‘Solitary, Poor, Nasty, Brutish Short’ in 2008; all this through the best independent punk label in Australia, Poison City Records out of Melbourne. Our 2007 album was released in Japan through Fast Life Records in late 2008, and we're currently working on our second album and playing shows and all that kind of thing.

I don't know really, The metro I suppose. I saw you guys there with Lagwagon and Propagandhi which is why I wanted to come to this one =D. If you guys played at the Metro again me and my mates would sure as hell come!

OR

(less likely option)

My band was arranging with a couple of other bands within our school to play one night in the auditorium. It's all still in the process of being worked out but you guys would be more than welcome to join us. Our school is just near the CBD and plenty of kids will there!
