BooksA REVIEW OF HOW NOT TO SUCK, BY Roger, (A reader and hopefully new fan) Reading W.B. Flutie’s How not to Suck was like giving your favorite professor a ride home from college and being instantly bombarded with his philosophy on life. You quickly realize you aren’t sure you want to hear all he has to say because of his brutal honesty but you’re curious what he believes. His style is in your face but some things just need to be said. You may not agree with all he says but you give him the respect to hear him out. He shocks, scares and slams a big dose of reality at you the whole way home. No subject is taboo. He tackles religion, relationships and his personal life. At times you’re ready to use the eject button but then he’d come out with some hilarious observation about life and you couldn’t dare throw him out before the journey was finished. The book is not for the faint of heart but he does capture many tender moments when he writes about his children, his friends and his deep love for his job. Here is a man who is passionate for what he believes and the things that are important in his life. The book is both funny and forces you to take a long hard look at yourself. The combination of those two factors is worth buying the book. How not to suck

Happy Holidays! Hope you’re enjoying the season so far. Seems it has been quite some time since I spent some time on Myspace. I have been busy altering my website at www. tonycowger. com to reflect my newest efforts in the freelance and ghost writing markets and focus less on my own novel. Anyway, I hope the rest of your year is wonderful and that the new year holds all the abundance you want. If you or someone you know is in need of some writing help please send them my way at www. tonycowger. com. (For any help I receive from my Myspace friends I am offering a 10% finders fee to say thank you for helping out a friend so be sure to write and let me know in case your friend forgets to tell me. If you hire me yourself, that 10% would be taken off what you pay so, either way, you win.) I have experience in writing sales ads/presentations, non-fiction and, of course, fiction.
Thanks and happy holidays!

Dearest Flutie,

Hey man, the Two Tone Chat misses your presence every week. But that is not my reason for messaging you on here. I was wondering if you may be able to help me figure out a solution as to why I suck.

You see, working at a theme park where hundreds of thousands of stupid people come in daily, and treat all the ride operators like garbage, has gotten me into a bit of a tizzy. I find myself angrier and angrier every day and that I hate the people more and more for the stupid shit they do and for not listening to simple instruction (especially since I yell at them through a rather loud PA system). I hate them and I want them to all go away and to tell them off, but I can't find it in me to do so. I suck because I can't tell these people to their face that they are stupid.

That's basically the jist of my problem, but I do miss you my good friend and hope everything is well.

Hey man,

just thought i'd drop a line...The book is getting better and better every day I read it. I see alot of my self-suckness, and hopefully when i get to the part about relationships, i can fix my suck. Anyway man, thanks for helping me not to suck...

by the way...i'm starting to wonder if i have ADD, the whole standardized testing thing got me thinking...did i really hate the test, or was i just so effed up in the head that i just couldnt pick out the right answer....Fuck multiple choice tests, they suck. I guess the reason i can pass my music theory tests is that they don't ask us all the fucking rules, they just lay out a bass line and say here write us some damn music, you have 5 mins.

like writting...most of my english teachers would give these elaborate prompts for writting assignments and say go...well that didn't work for me, too much limitation. I need to get creative. i should send you a copy of the first paper i wrote in college. It's hilarious, cause i totally said fuck this prompt bullshit and i just free wrote about nothing for the first draft. and still got an A on the final product even though i fucked around. haha, anyway this message has way to many grammatical errors and i really just wanted to say You Rule!!!

so i'll leave it at that..
