WATCH THE NEW "HOW'S YOUR NEWS?" TV SERIES ON MTV SUNDAY NIGHTS AT 10:30!
This is a project which began over 10 years ago at a summer camp for people with disabilities. Our films and music are something in which everyone, the cast, crew, and their families feel a lot of pride. And we think they are funny too!
The HYN band was formed in 2000 during the filming of our first feature film, the cross country documentary "How's Your News? - Voyage Across America". We got together in a living room to write some songs for the soundtrack and ended up recording a whole album.
We are a band of people with various disabilities. We promise you have never heard music quite like this!
The band has played shows all over the world - Austin, TX, Los Angeles, San. Fran, New York, Toronto, Montreal, Amsterdam, Boston, etc. We have played shows with State Radio, David Byrne, and The Polyphonic Spree.
How's Your News? is probably best known for it's films which have appeared at festivals worldwide and been broadcast on HBO/Cinemax, PBS, Trio, Channel Four England, and Showcase/IFC in Canada. And now we have a series on MTV, watch it Sunday nights at 10:30pm! Our first DVD, "How's Your News? - Voyage Across America" is out with Shout Factory and can be found at video stores, Amazon, or Netflix or our website howsyournews.com
People sometimes ask us: Is this a joke?
Our Answer is "No!" HYN is often funny, and we like it that way, but we are very serious and proud of what we've done. We know the difference between laughing "at" and laughing "with".
I am so sad that the season of How's Your News is over! PLEASE tell me there will be more! I ordered at How's Your News shirt and I can't wait till it gets here! I am so proud that there is finally a show on mainstream TV that shows society how incredibly awesome people with disabilities are, you guys are so funny and your music is brilliant!
I'm a teacher at a pre-school that integrates young children with special needs with typically developing children and I just love the idea of inclusion, and something like your show is so inspiring!
I just had to say CONGRATS to you guys to making it to the top of that mountain, it brought tears to my eyes! You guys are so awesome! I sure hope there is another season in the works!
