It’s a wonder the Hoxton Whores have time to eat or sleep considering they are probably the busiest duo in dance music! The coming together of great minds stems back to when the pair, Gary Dedman and Kevin Andrews created one of the UK’s biggest and most successful independent dance music distribution companies – Essential Direct. Having the world’s upfront music at their finger tips means they are always ten steps ahead of the rest. If you’re on a dance floor and the Hoxton Whores are at the helm – you’ll soon know about it! Their back catalogue reads like a dance music bible… their tour diary like an airline departure board... to put it simply – the Hoxton Whores are massive!
In the studio the boy’s have churned out well over 300 dance floor smashes under their signature guise of ‘Hoxton Whores’, and aliases: Stereo Scum, Disco Darlings and Fun Da Mentalists. Their remixology reads like the A-Z of the world’s biggest artists from Deep Dish, David Morales, Arrola, Faithless to Leftfield… whilst their cheeky bootlegs are infamous on the club scene.
As we fly into 2009 the Hoxton Whores are set to have their biggest year to date. The first five months alone have already seen the Hoxton Whores tour Asia, Australia, Dubai, Europe and the USA and the boys are busier in the studio than they’ve ever been. After keeping 2 consecutive weeks at number 1 in the Beatport download charts with new project ‘Devil Toy’, (Apr 09) the Hoxton Whores have plenty of monstrous tracks set for major release this year.
Also hitting the very top of the charts and daytime radio playlists in Australia is the Hoxton Whores new project with the Stafford Brothers, ‘Wherever’ signed to Ministry of Sound. The track reached the Top 20 physical chart in April 09 and is set for release worldwide.... This floor-filling, hand-raising tune features vocals by the Stafford Brother’s cousin Frank and you can check out the official music video currently being shown on MTV…. The follow up "Love Lasts Forever" is due for release later in the year and is also showing promising signs to do great things.
