The lines, Married to the music, its useless, Im monogamous, pretty much say it all. With a fierce and undying passion for his craft, Hassahn Phenomenon breathes a fresh breath of life into asthmatic world of music. Combining all the elements it truly takes to move the crowd, this Chicago emcee not only represents himself, he embodies a movement. Staying true to himself, Hassahns music is a reflection of everyday life. With subject matters ranging from abortion to hating a nine to five job, he captures the essence of what it is to be human.
As a native of the Southside of Chicago, like every other Black youth growing up in the city, Hassahn has witnessed struggle, poverty, and everything that is affiliated with it. By not letting those situations consume him, he was able to escape the sometimes-invisible wall that surrounds the black community. Besides, he almost didnt make it to the community at all; born to a young mother whose parents wanted more for her, they took her to have Hassahn aborted. God must have wanted different because she was unable to have the procedure due to complications. That complication goes by the name of Hassahn Phenomenon. At a young age he was helping his uncle, who was dj, dig in the crates to keep the neighborhood parties rockin. Hassahn could read and write poetry as early as 7 years old. Hassahn put it best when he said, As hip-hop grew from it's infancy into adulthood, I grew along with it. Embracing and loving everything that encompassed hip-hop, I realized that I wasn't growing up in the culture but I was the culture.
Not realizing his true potential, it was not until college where Hassahn really understood and embraced his gift. Initially he was known as the wordsmith of a two emcee and one dj trio that went by the name of Deep Thawts. Always displaying a humble yet nonchalant arrogance, Hassahn is quick to point out that his counterpart Black I was the one that made him step his game up as an emcee. Following in the footsteps of his many influences, The Phenomenon entertains like the groove behind Michael Jacksons kicks, his lyrics can bruise like the force behind Mike Tysons fist, and the flow is all pro as it moves with the grace of Mike Vick. Legendary emcee, Rakim once said that, MC stands for Move the Crowd. This is the statement that the man known as HP lives by. Whether it is making you think, making you cry, or making you dance, Hassahn is brilliant at capturing the essence of human emotion; therefore he is a man that can move the crowd in a way that transcends race, gender, and creed.
Yes, he has graced many stages; yes, he was signed to an independent label; yes, he wrote a song for the legendary group Jodeci; yes, he has ghost written for a few hip-hop heavyweights, but none of those things tell the true story of Hassahn Phenomenon. In a vigorous pursuit to satisfy his hunger to be recognized for his talent, Hassahn has provided a full meal for todays fast food industry with his debut release Pressure. It is in his music that you can get to know the man behind the microphone. When you here the words, Its the return of the magnificent, so incredibly incredible, so extravagantly extravagant, it is then and only then that you will be in the presence of a true PHENOMENON.

Here's to US!!!! No matter what our kids and the new generation think about us, WE ARE AWESOME ! OUR LIFE IS LIVING PROOF ! To Those of Us Born 1930 - 1979
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930's, 40's, 50's,60's and 70's!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-base paints.
W e had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads.
As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes.
Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And, we weren't overweight. WHY?
Because we were always outside playing...that's why!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And, we were OKAY.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes.. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem
We did not have Play stations, Nintendo's and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on ca
