We are a classical Brisbane based string quartet but also specialise in more modern music. Our repertoire covers a huge range of genres including Classical, Baroque, Romantic, Modern, Jazz, Blues, Folk, Popular and Rock Covers and Latin.
Highly Strung is an experienced, professional and sophisticated Brisbane based string quartet that plays for wedding ceremonies, receptions & drinks as well as corporate events & functions, parties, conferences, engagements, product launches, christenings, formal dinners, or anything that requires a little bit of music to make an event extra special. The wedding music we provide is catered to suit all tastes.
We charge an extremely competitive rate (prices given on enquiry). Although we are based in Brisbane, we will happily travel to the Gold and Sunshine coasts and all surrounding areas. However, we may require a small transport fee for petrol for any bookings outside Greater Brisbane (see our performance extras link for more details).
We have a huge amount of repertoire and not only perform classic string quartet repertoire but many popular, jazz and modern covers (see our repertoire list). We also offer string quartet with double bass for larger events, corporate functions or if you want the additional richness in sound a double bass provides. For weddings we also work with a guest female vocalist if you want a special touch for your cermony (see our performance extras link for more details about these two exciting options).

Here's a update on the group! Highly Strung String Quartet provides great music for all occasions in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas! Weddings, coporate functions, anything! They also have a new feature in their line up, a female vocalist can team up with the string quartet to perform music in your wedding ceremony for an elegant touch to your special day.
come to our qys chamber music concert on this Sunday! 3pm at the Old Museum Building. A chamber orchestra is playing Wagner's Siegfried Idyll, Faure's Piano Quartet, Glinka Piano Trio, Bartok Duets & Dvorak's Terzetto. So come! It'll be good!
