Unsigned Band Web Said:
"Singer is good, natural voice and well sampled. Drum work is very good."
Adventures In Live Music:
"some really good bluesy, punky southern-style rock. you know that aint my thing, but i could tell they was pretty damn good"
a face in the crowd wrote:
"Let It Die is their second EP and it is stripped down and country-fried guitar rock. HTR channels the same alt-country influences The Honorary Title or The Meadows, but Let It Die foregoes the emphasis on pop melodies and really digs into the blues roots of rock music. The result is gritty, no-frills rock that would be just as at home in a backwoods bar fifty years ago as it is in Brooklyn today."
The Jersey Beat Wrote:
"Bluesy, heartfelt, stripped down, no frills, rock. Those are the first adjectives that come to mind upon my first listening to this album. Each song sung from the heart, with a southern feel."
Brooklyn Rocks Wrote:
"Let It Die is a great slice of whiskey-soaked cowpunk and Richard Lloyd's production is near-perfect. The band doesn't loose any of the overall grittiness of their sound but Lloyd's production brings out some great guitar licks which is complemented by steady-on bass work and I really love the snare drums. All four tracks from the new EP are streaming on the band's MySpace page (link below) and the standout track is 'The Shaker'."

HTR- the Brooklyn based three piece Punktree rock band-mixes lyrical Southern Rock and old NYC punk to make a sound that is vicious and raw but not afraid of a sweet catchy melody, a sound akin to a shot of Jack and a shot of Junk. Recently HTR have been donating their time and concert efforts to charities, currently hosting canned food drives with The Food Bank of New York at their venue, The Castle in Hell.
They self released their debut EP "Cause/Solution" in the middle of 2006, catching the eye of well known New York label ROIR records, and landing them a distribution deal with the company.
HTR--formed in Dallas by two high school friends, Brendyn Sweet, and Luke Strickland, in March of 2004--combine elements of punk, country, and old fashioned Rock N Roll to create an original sound that really matters to people. HTR initially began as informal, whiskey fueled jam sessions disguised as practice at a sign printing warehouse near the Trinity River. However, once some refinement crept into the music, HTR decided to put the lives they had gone to college for on hold and pursue music. The first step was to find a drummer whose style and philosophy fit with the band. The band kicked around Dallas, playing three-man shows while auditioning drummers, but with no luck. In August, frustrated with the Dallas scene, HTR moved to New York. After playing with multitudes of drummers throughout the dive bars of New York City, HTR finally found the drummer they were looking for. In February of 2005 Aaron Johns joined HTR and the band took off. Within a year, HTR recorded their 8-song demo entitled Cause/Solution at Loiter Studios in Brooklyn, New York, with Ellis Traver (sound engineer Fischer/Spooner) filling in the role of engineer. After finishing their 2nd CD, with Richard Lloyd from Television, HTR still continues to play around the city and gain new fans at every stop.
