Since his scholarship studies at the Juilliard School, Grammy Award nominee Brian Slawson has appeared on NBC’s Tonight Show, Entertainment Tonight, The CBS Morning News and NPR’s "All Things Considered." Mr. Slawson has seven solo CDs to his credit, four on the Sony/CBS label.
As a percussionist, Brian has shared the stage with classical luminaries Leonard Bernstein and Aaron Copland. recorded with pop icons from Marie Osmond to Stevie Ray Vaughan, and punctuated jokes for comedians Bill Maher, Don Rickles, Eddie Murphy and Jerry Seinfeld. He has performed on hundreds of popular national ad campaigns including spots for American Express, Budweiser, Exxon/Mobil, NABISCO, Coca-Cola, McDonald's and Chrysler.
Currently, Brian is the voice of “Gusto the Bulldog” in Warner Bros. “Music Expressions” series. His entertainment company, Slawsongs Inc., has created custom music for television, radio and feature films, with clients ranging from Northrop Grumman and NASA to IBM, all while maintaining his duties as Principal Timpanist of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra. Brian's smash CD for children, "Boomer", is being developed for television.
Legendary vibraphonist Lionel Hampton described Brian Slawson as “one of the finest percussionists to come along in many years.” Modern Drummer magazine espouses Brian as "a visionary, be it performer, producer or composer."
