Electronic Jazz Diva, Nicole Graham, is an independent recording/performing artist and songwriter bridging the gap between underground and mainstream dance music. Her songwriting career began in 1998 and led to the consistent releases of electronica, house and electro-jazz songs. These initial releases gave Nicole Graham the exposure to collaborate on projects, featuring hybrid musical styles: breakbeat, acoustic soul, electronic funk. Anything with a BEAT! As a songwriter and vocal arranger, Nicole creatively adapts her melodies to all music. The original remixer. It is, in fact, this aspect of songwriting and production that she finds most attractive.
Nicole Graham is also an accomplished professional dancer and has performed in many international cabarets, the most well-known being the Moulin Rouge® in Paris, France, where her talent earned her the distinction of being the first ever African-American female dancer and can-can soloist hired by the cabaret in it's entire history.
In her first three years on the underground music scene, Nicole was a featured artist on eleven 12" vinyls, three album projects, numerous house and electronic music compilations-including projects with well known DJ/Producers (Llorca, Playin' For The City, Harley and Muscle)-and labels such as Defected, Ovum, Kif, Soulstar, SFP and F Communications. The compilations achieved great international success and exposure. Many of these projects were made for the jet-set and fashion set such as A Night At The Playboy Mansion mixed by Dimitri From Paris (Astralwerks-2003) featuring INDIGO BLUES, a title originally recorded and released on the first album of Llorca- Newcomer (F Communications- 2000). Respect Is Burning, Vol. 2 (Labels/Virgin, France-1998/Astralwerks), featured her first commercial release with the song PRIVATE NUMBER- and now Hotel Costes vol. 11 mixed by Stéphane Pompougnac (Pschent/Wagram, FR-2008), with the song EDEN. Other compilations and labels include releases from major record companies such as Universal Music and brands such as Ministry of Sound.
All of her songs, the majority of which are original compositions written by Nicole Graham, continue to be heard on Parisian, French and international radio stations and to appear on many current and international top-selling downtempo, dance, lounge and house music compilations, today. To date, 18 original and more than 30 remixed versions of Nicole Graham's work have been released.
