My moms,James Brown,Earth Wind & Fire,Kool Herc,Bam,Flash,Jazzy Jeff,Pete Rock,Premier,Soulman, drunk uncles and old soul brothas, older gods and ya family members dancin at parties a actin damn fool
Im gonna keep it basic... Ive been livin hip hop for a little over 20 years covering every element except rhymin, started djing in 84 took it seriously in 87 from there i made a name for myself doing parties around the way, battles, clubs, radio etc. I was always into music before djin my mom always bought records and when we had company i had to play music while they played cards and talked shit plus my mom hung with a dj crew in the late 70s early80s they had the shirts with the iron on letters and all that and she would tell me how they were mixing with 3 turntables etc. Hearing all this at an early age helped me in the future.. as time went i got into producing, built up up my record collection, began recording with the neighborhood spitters you could say i was the marley marl of the hood.In 94 me & some close friends formed a group called Perverted Dialect recorded demos, got a manager ..blah blah blah, grinded then got featured in The Sources unsigned hype in 97 & every other major mag during that time period (stiil no deal) labels felt us but they were frontin after that we said fuk it we put out our shit independant, we got spins in florida, cali and a few other places (labels still fronted).........After the whole i want a record deal episode priorities kicked in so we fell back right now im working on a few projects which will be posted soon so be on the look out for that....also im putting out a mix cd titled SOUL SEARCHIN for all my sample junkies
