The very great and inspired songwriters who began with just a phrase and a melody and created history--Bob Marley and Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Jimmy Cliff and especially the original dee jay styles of U Roy and Burning Spear have influenced my music. Also Ron Rhoades for his excellent musicianship and John Cuniberti for his expert engineering. I mustn't forget my dear friend Mark Kane who brought simplicity to the whole matter. Also my Uncle Eddie who had a Fender Rhodes up in his attic and dog named BeBop. And of course my Nanny in Far Rockaway who had a gorgeous Steinway in her Apt 3D. And now Jah Z who began life listening to reggae music and of course the fabulous Fireball Sistah...to all, I want to say, "Thank You."

Whispering Lion combines socially conscious lyrics with music that uplifts the soul and rekindles the spirit. With his distinctive, charismatic style, he is as different and enjoyable live, as on record. He is one of the few American reggae artists to have reached an international audience. Whispering Lion is a genuine original.
After years of hard work, to build himself a studio, and to master the arts of recording, producing, dubbing, etc., and of course creating the music and lyrics, in August 2005, the Whispering Lion finished his new, completely independently produced CD: REAL REVOLUTION. The new album was produced working with some very great artists, including members of the Twinkle Brothers, Wadi Gad, Hux Brown, Ben Krames, Wadi B, and Sakai.
The CD marks the singing debut of Jah Z. REAL REVOUTION was officially released in May 2006.
The music is great, mellow and groovy, roots reggae with rock influences, while the texts are positive, uplifting, and actual as ever, with beautiful female background choirs. Besides influences from Bob Marley and Bob Dylan, hints of JJ Cale, Leonard Cohen, and early Burning Spear can also be heard. The album ends with some real great dub versions of some of the songs. "Thank You", an uplifting reggae ballad from REAL REVOLUTION, was selected for the REGGAE EXPRESS 2006 Compilation CD. This is the second international Reggae Compilation that has included a Whispering Lion tune. The highly acclaimed RAW 2000 Compilation CD included Whispering Lion's 1998 hit tune, "Up 2 Us".
