   About Marni Sheehan
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) Marni is an established performer with a rock'n'roll past. She has played with many Melbourne (Australia) bands as a songwriter/bass player/vocalist and these days performs covers and her own material working either solo, or as a trio with the fabulous James Williams (guitar, banjo & piano) and Tony Spizzica (upright bass). Marni plays mandolin, accordion & guitar. Fingerpicking favourites from Doc Watson & Elizabeth Cotton feature in the sets along with old timey blues from Dock Boggs and the Memphis Jug Band, as well as original songs. Marni Jim & Tony have performed at many festivals includingMaldon FF , Chewton FF , Coastfest, Wandong, as well as various folk clubs and music venues Syd & Melb. Marni’s second album INSIDE STORIES released in 2007 was recorded by Mark Woods, whose sound mixing credits include Tina Turner, Men at Work, The Models & In Excess. Sample tracks can be heard on Marni’s MySpace site. REVIEWS OF INSIDE STORIES Overall this album is much more polished as Sheehan seems much more confident in her song writing….Listening to and owning this album is highly recommended’ Chris Spencer May 07 ‘This album contains some real masterpieces’ Country Startpage (Netherlands) July 07 ‘Marni Sheehan’s ‘Lonesome Blues’….a perfectly constructed blues piece. Marni can write a great story-song, such as the outlaws on the run tale of ‘True Hearts’. The Irish fiddle and mandolin laced ‘Rambling Rose & the Gardener of Love’ is also a credit to Marni’. Trad & Now June 07 Marni also works with the amazing 'Croakers', friends and seasoned performers Roger Davies, (I'm a Muckleford Man), James Williams, Kinga Roy, (Maldon's leading man). and the Incredible Elmoreman, Tony Spizzica. The addition of the fabulous Rob King on drums has made the Croakers a complete entity of frog'n'toad bliss! CROAKERS ALIVE IS OUT NOW and hot off the press....recorded live in one afternoon at Bald Hill Studios and an exclusive Froggiestyle release. LIVE is the only way The Croakers know how to record, so this is a snapshot of Croakers magic. Email Marni for details about buying this gem. Marni has an occasional girl's gig also with The Kitchen Girls, Maggie Littlejohn and Kerri Patmore, playing old timey and a few Irish & Scottish fiddle/mandolin/guitar tunes. Lots of fun SHEEHANMUSIC Marni, Dave and Amos Sheehan are a team of songwriters with an established track record of songwriting, recording and performance . The writers cover a wide variety of styles soul, funk, rock, r & b, pop, hip hop, country, childrens songs, acoustic/alternative and folk. There is a large collection of original songs available for recording artists. See the Sheehanmusic website for more info. www.sheehanmusic.com REVIEWS OF CRITTERS & SPECIMENS (released 2005) Marni finds the soul in all the tunes on the release. She lifts the listener up and gently rocks them..............blends the folk tradition with a hint of country and a pop sensibility that make the tracks accessible to both folk purists and those who are more interested in pop music. Dennis Halsey BestFemaleMusicians.com Oct 2004 Marni Sheehan is a real writer. Her songs are all substantial, theyre real stories not just cute ideas spun out over three minutes Art Streams Magazine Oct 2004 "This is a first album to be proud of, it is an impressive introduction to a wide range of Marni's talents as songwriter, vocalist and instrumentalist...check it out, you'll be delighted" Trad&Now Aug 2006 I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4

Thanks Marnie. I heard a bit of your CD on triple R a while back - not realising it was you - and had to sit in the car and wait to see who it was because I liked the track so much. Next time I see you please sell me a copy. You always were the best writer and singer.
