Hot To Trot was established in the summer of 2005 when David Osborn and Martin Benham couldn't find many labels promoting true funky breaks. There was plenty of the Nu Skool Breaks out there but not many with the funk that matters.
With their pedigrees already established, David being locked in a studio for most of his adult life and fed on a strict diet of old skool funk and disco with a twist of electro, whilst Martin had been busy orgainising allnight parties and DJing at some hazy events.
The two decided it was time to stand up and be counted and help the breaks scene remember its roots by trying to provide an alternative to slowed down D&B!
With a few releases under their belts and now firmly recognised by the scene Hot To Trot is going from strength to strength. With artists Grand Def Audio, the Slack Breakers and 601 on board momentum is picking up. With strong support from Finger Lickin, Soul Of Man, Drumattic Twins, Jay Cunning (Kiss), Annie Nightingale (Radio 1), Ben & Lex, Tayo, Ben Braund, Aquasky, Atomic Hooligan, plus top reviews in DJ mag and iDJ its not hard to see why they are making waves.
Hot To Trot releases can be obtained from the following outlets: DJDownloads, Trackitdown, Juno, Streetwise, HTFR and any cool record shop.
Don't be afraid to get in touch, especially if you're making the same kind of music or just diggin it.
