About me:
Huck Gee moved to San Francisco in the early 90's pursuing the venerable life of a b-boy. Maintaining day jobs that expanded his artistic vocabulary; he spent his nights testing his skills, tearing up floors, and his weekends searching for inspiration. Graphic design by day, graffiti and breaks by night, studying Miyamoto Musashi on the weekends. He later culled his skills as an illustrator, allowing him to explore more commercial art styles and delve into the alluring world of Japanese and Hong Kong pop art. Which in turn led him to the fascinating world of Toy Art & Design, and teaming up with a little known company named Kidrobot.
In the winter of 2007, Huck's "Hello My Name Is" 8” Dunny was accepted into the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. It will be displayed as part of the main design collection galleries exhibition on the 3rd floor as of December 21, 2007. In addition, Huck has begun consigning pieces for one of the world’s leading fine art auction houses: Christie’s Auction House.
Not to be confined to the role of just toy designer and illustrator, Huck has also begun his own clothing line, Moshpop Manufactory, in late 2008 with many new pieces on the way.
Over the last few years, the demand for Huck's Custom Toy Art and illustrations has grown quite immense. With small runs of hand crafted Custom Art Toys and original prints selling out in seconds online and shipping to art collectors worldwide. Huck now runs a studio in San Francisco with several assistants and the coming year brings a full schedule with signings, events and appearances planned the world over: more custom toys, new prints, and numerous new toy designs for Kidrobot, ToyQube, Adfunture, and Fresh Manila to name a few.
When not busy planning world domination Huck spends his free time chasing skirts and pretending to be a race car driver.
