I play Sitar, Flute, Djembe... would love to play a Grand Piano, the maserati of musical instruments. Have played violin, piano, saxophone. Will make music-like noise with anything put into my hands if necessary. | | Movies | prefer anything the referred to more properly as "film" or "cinema." Avoid Hollywood. That said, Fight Club rules. I love independent film. | | Television | Fuck TV. | | Books | Primarily Philological tomes that no person in their right mind would heft, much less open. Interspersed with thick, involving fiction of literary merit. For levity I turn to post and post-post modern lit, of the Gravity`s Rainbow and Infinite Jest variety. What involves me in reading are works which challenge my assumptions as an audience and force me to participate in creating the world-view of the story. But not fantasy fiction, with the exception of course of Lord of the Rings, and The New York Times. I like best stories that start nowhere and go nowhere, and thus are apropos mirrors of existence.
I also love unpublished works. Send me your writing!!! | | Heroes | People who are able to live stable, adjusted, normal lives. People who go to meaningless jobs everyday without complaint, return to poorly designed domiciles where they cohabit with fellow humans, spawn on occasion and produce offspring, go shopping at walmart without irony, and live simple unquestioning lives.
