The Pulsators formed in 1989 and released three albums over the following decade and a half. Their first CD, titled THE PULSATORS, prompted a Northern California music magazine to call them one killer band with irresistible hooks. The Press Democrats On Q responded to the second album, HERES TO YOU, with this firecracker band proves its only getting better with time, adding that The Pulsators reproduce the hyper essence of their live shows, along with a tight professional musicianship. The Petaluma Argus-Courier wrote that the album captures the easy groove and good-time feeling that the band projects.
Rooted in the fertile musical soil of the Sonoma County Wine Country the Pulsators are a sixpiece band that plays its own brand of music. With a get-up-and-dance kind of orchestration, their music has been defined as a spicy blend of driving blues, New Orleans-funky R&B, rock steady reggae and rock-and-roll. Their music supports an ever-growing legion of faithful fans who keep coming back for more. The Pulsators have been voted a Sonoma County fan-favorite four times in reader's choice polls given by The Press Democrat.
On their home turf, The Pulsators play festivals, nightclubs and private events but have also toured extensively throughout the western United States and began collaborating with New Orleans rock-and-roll pioneer Art Neville, who signed a publishing deal with them and lended his talent to HERES TO YOU, by performing on three of the albums tracks. Art invited the Pulsators to open for the Funky Meters at Tipitinas in New Orleans; they later played numerous shows with the Neville Brothers in Louisiana and California, including the House of Blues in Hollywood and the Fillmore in San Francisco. The band has been billed with such artists as Bob Dylan, Little Feat, Chris Isaac, Al Green, Taj Mahal, The Radiators, Buddy Guy and B.B.King.
The Pulsators recently finished their much anticipated third CD, CANT PUT YOU DOWN. The new album is filled with more Pulsators originals, blending funk, blues and ska. Its a combination of make your feet move dance music and soulful harmonies with a lot of great horns.

FRIDAY NIGHT HAPPY HOUR REVUE Hosted by Harlan Hollander
Harlan promises great music and has already started the process of bringing known performers to give Tavernites a chance to see some of their favorite area artists in an up close and personal way. Bringing a wide variety of entertainment, Papa's will be the place to be to start your weekend. Drink & Food Specials combined with their famous $2 Draft Beers will make Papas your first stop on the way to a fun & entertaining weekend. Hollander, new to Sonoma County, was excited for the opportunity to win new fans in his new hometown area, as he has at venues throughout the country. He hosted the longest-running Sunday Night Open Mic in Hollywood which featured performers from such bands as Blondie, Tom Petty, The Groovy Rednecks, The Plimsouls, as well as providing local amateurs their shots at glory. When returning to Chicago in the early 90s for a few years he returned to his blues roots as the house guitarist at the legendary Checkerboard Lounge, which bands like the Rolling Stones made a regular stop on their way through Chciago during many tours. In May Harlan appeared at San Franciscos Hemlock Taverm as a guest performer with legendary L.A. rockers, The Dogs, which was simply nothing less than an amazing reunion of these long-time friends who shared many bills together over the years and considered one of the best shows in recent history. Harlan has just finished producing the debut release from Berkeleys The Happy Clams, whose new cd "All Steamed Up, Baby!" is already getting great reviews and loads of airplay. He also produced the debut cd of blues artist Captain Mike and until recently perfromed with both The Clams & Captain Mike as a regular guest, adding his patented solid rhythm guitar to these and other bands who turn to him regularly to bring that extra energy and talent to bring the audiences to a level of excitement that can turn a crowd into a frenzy of fun. Until recently Harlan hosted and perfromed with his band The World Famous Hokum Boys at the Monday Night Blues Bash at Berkeleys Missouri Lounge for over 2 years before returning to producing and performing with a number of Bay Area artists and becoming house engineer at Berkeleys famous Starry Plough Pub. Starting as a young blues guitarist in Chicago, he later moved to Hollywood and became one of the most sought-after guitarists, producer and live audio engineer. His work can be heard on albums he was called in to fix for many established performers who needed his help in saving their projects. He has worked with with such artists as R.E.M, Junior Wells, The Blasters, Canned Heat, George Jones, Englebert Humperdinck, The Angry Samoans, The Mentors, The Beat Farmers, The Phenomenauts, Let's Go Bowling, Tony Bennett, Kenny Rogers, Three Dog Night, John Lee Hooker, Phast Phreddie & Thee Precisons, Peter Case and many more. He also has worked with such Latin Music Stars at Los Huricanes Del Norte, El Tiempo, La Banda Del Pueblo & Apache. So watch out Sonoma County, there's a new face to an established place: Papa's Taverna, the home of good times and fun in Petaluma!
